Prepare for bugs.  This place is absolutely crawling with ticks. Permethrin treatment on your clothing works very well.

Once the roster is released get in touch with your Squad Leader and figure out what his expectations are so you are prepared in that respect.

Invest in some 100% Deet. Drink the water on site even though it taste weird. It'll all help keep the pest off ya. Prepare for wind, rain, hot and cold weather. It never fails to rain or give us all good indication there could be rain. Overall just bring everything you think will make your experience the most enjoyable. Tent, cot, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, extra clothes, food (unless you go off site to eat), etc.

be prepared for extremely heavy rains if you aren't staying in a hotel. its Oklahoma and its been a wet month so just be prepared. Also if you bring and eat garlic/ garlic cloves it will help better with insects. they also make garlic pills. Also figure out something to charge batteries as there are not many ports or have a bunch of spares. make sure you drink as much water as possible before the event and even more the day before. Make sure you have good footwear and if its new break it in before the event as there will be a lot of walking(large AO)

ALWAYS BRING POGEY-BAIT!! (snacks) not only are you going to get hungry but if you leave AO for meal it can have an impact on your team

Extra clothes are nice to have for if/when your others get dirty/wet but not an essential necessarily, just really nice to have. Good boots are essential, there is lots of hills/ravines and lots of walking and it sucks if your feet hurt. Pedialite or something rich in electrolytes/minerals/vitamins helps a lot. The tablets you can put in your bladder are good. Looks like it's only gonna be ~80 degrees but still kinda hot. Would suggest running as light weight as you can and ditching stuff like balaclavas and maybe helmet, roll up your sleeves. Backup guns, plenty of batteries, extra eye pro. 1 is none, 2 is one. Carb/Vitamin/Mineral rich snacks for on the field.

The terrain will remind you a lot of Warzone Matrix.

That's what I was thinking. The main reason I picked up that Chest. Rig

Have good, broken-in hiking shoes/boots. Lots of rocks and rough terrain.

Drink water, but don't chug it and become waterlogged.

Carry a few CLIF bars on you. (Blueberry Crisp are my favorite)

Carry 1-2L of water on you.
Invest in strong bug repellent. (Repel 100 is good)

Maybe sunscreen?

Cardio. Do cardio in preparation, although it's probably too late to start for this event.

The AO is not that punishing, fatbodies will tell you otherwise.
Hydrating weeks, months, etc. in advance and taking random vitamins are a waste of money and do nothing for you. Don't waste time/money on it.

A12NOR,

You might consider searching the archived BH forums for similar threads.  There's a lot of good advice over the years in other threads asking about the BH game site.  Including the advice in this 2017 thread.

Have a great, and safe, BH!
