Number of main guns limited?

Recommended Posts

I see under squad support weapons that they are required to have another gun to engage minimum engagement targets. I do see where players can have as many secondary weapons as they want but names pistols. I can't seem to find a rule under the ruleset that says I may only have 1 primary weapon.

I also don't see the heavy weapon specialist having anything saying they must have an AEG so I'm assuming that they can still have another gun or else they have only rockets and grenades all day.

I only ask because I kinda want to carry a gun for indoors like a shotgun as well as for outdoors at med to long range since I can't have an enhanced scope.

I think a lot of people would be more concerned if you could carry all of that stuff and still be a reliable Squad member while running all over the AO.

I like this question, Say is am Running a M249 SAW and have a krytac PDW as a secondary to engage targets within 50ft, would i observe the mag limits for a rifleman or would i be able to have as many as i can carry?

Observe the mag limit for each type of weapon. You can be a SSW or HWS w/ a secondary assault rifle.

So for this question would rifleman only be allowed to carry pistols as a secondary or would they be allowed another type of rifle like other classes?

You can carry as many "rifleman class" weapons as you wish.  Only other classes are limited, and have specific rules regarding who can carry what ammo load.  You can carry an M249 and an M4 if you wish as a SSW class, but your the only person that can carry ammo for the SAW.  Just like you can be a HWS and carry an M203/M4 with the rifleman limit on mags, but only you can carry grenade rounds.  Hope that makes sense.  As for the rifleman role, I don't care how many weapons you carry on your person, but you can only carry so much ammo.

Ok thanks Alex that makes sense. I guess I was just wondering if a rifleman would be allowed to carry something outside of his MOS. I know SMG's and Shotguns fall under rifleman, but like a DMR or something like that would be off limits to a rifleman correct?

Well I have friends who do games with a sniper strapped to their back and a rifle strapped to their chest harness. He runs it really well and never has an engagement problem.

As long as there is one DMR rifle in a squad, it doesnt matter who is carrying it. The two classes are basically the same with the exception of the Rifle FPS and the engagement distance.  Same thing with a SSW. It doesnt matter who is carrying it as long as there are only two per squad.

So if carrying a dmr with a secondary short barrle rifle for indoors and closer engagement ranges, would a person be limuted to 7 mags total between both rifles? An example would be carrying an m14 ebr as a DMR with an m4 modified with a lower fps and short barrel for cqb engagements.

Since they run two different mag sizes if limited to 7 total mags you would have to pick say 4 m14 and 3 m4 mags, but you would be stuck if you empty all the mags of one type and cannot engage enemies without a pistol for backup.
