WHAT TO BRING?????

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have been playing airsoft for 3 years now and this is my first MilSim event. I have already purchased tickets for me and my brother but need to know what to bring to the event. I am bring these things to the event so far:

1. Assault Pack

2.MultiCam BDU's

3.Hydration Bladder

4.Dye i4 Paintball mask in DyeCam (don't know if this is acceptable pretty sure it is though)

5.Boots

6.Socks

7.MRE's???(What do people usually bring food wise?)

8.Sufficent water

9.Battery's

10.Charger for said batteries

11.Plate Carrier (Lancer Tactical 4096)

12.Mags for all of my guns

Is there anything I am forgetting and also WHAT IS NORMAL FOR FOOD (MRE'S) and finally are we going back to camp at night or sleeping at the base.

Thanks,

Hey! Welcome to American milsim. I hope your experience is good.

As for things to bring

Your gun and a backup

Your secondary(pistol etc)

Backup boots/ camo/ clothes. The weather tends to do whatever it wants and it sucks not having dry clothes.

Communications- seriously. A good radio is more important than a lot of other things. Spend 40 and get yourself a beofeng.

You will be leaving the AO after the game day and back to camp

Normal food is whatever you can bring to keep you going. I usually just pack cliff bars and a sandwich. But with a dye mask it will be touch for you to eat on field.

Last thing I would say is bring a positive attitude and excitement to be there. We are all trying to make this a good event. Play honest. Play hard. Follow the rules. And remember to have fun.

Here is an AMS post of the MMX checklist.  I've used this for all events and it's never served me wrong:

As far as food goes.  For me personally, I like fruits and canned veggies as they are good, good for you, and easy cleanup.  I bring protein bars to supplement and keep snackage on the field.  I will generally use beef jerkey as meat during the weekend.  I've never gone through more than (1) gallon of water during a (2) day event. But you know the rule, 1 is none and 2 is one.

I recommend to have some gatorade.  These are great during recovery times.

Definitely spare cloths (particularly socks) in the event you get drenched or step into water over your boot line. A soft shell waterproof jacket would be a great idea as well. I'll always second the suggestion for a backup weapon as well. Sometimes guns just quite working for whatever reason, and you don't want to be out of the action and the money and time you paid for admission.

As for Faded-Giant-specific advice:

Good gloves and thick soled boots - There is a lot of sharp metal and glass around industrial Mout sites like this. You'll want your hands and feed protected.

Basic to moderate level first aid kit - (On your person.) Shit happens. Maybe something sharp enough makes it through your glove or you trip on or off a step up or down. Best to have some simple first aid on you for those bruises, cuts and gashes that pop up from time time. Always a good idea to have one on you for both yourself or teammates in need.

Anti-fog - This site retains humidity quite well both in and outdoors, and transitioning between the two throughout the day will make fogging a battle in itself.

Light - FG is full of low light combat situations. If you don't have a weapon mounted light system, a headlamp can do the trick in most cases. Bring a bright red light to use if you are hit/downed in a dark area. Red rag required for death in well lit areas.

Face protection - In the event you do go for normal goggles over full face pro, I would still recommend a mesh mask for your lower face. As a Mout site, you'll be in some close distance situations with other players. Stuff happens around corners and you don't want to lose any teeth or get BB's lodged in your face. Be sure your eye pro (and the frame the lenses are in) are properly rated at point blank as well. You don't want any lenses shot out.
