Is a MK17 SSR allowed/what is it classified as?

Recommended Posts

I just bought/customized my gun and I'm trying to figure out what role it would be classified as, in MilSim.

The specs of my gun:

VFC MK17 SSR Base Rifle

Lonex M140 AEG Spring

Action Army 45000 motor

Siegetek Torque Gearset

Madbull 6.01mm Inner barrel

Maple Leaf RTX Hop Up Nub

Maple 70 degree bucking

Airsoft GI PE POM Piston

Vism 6-24 variable Scope *Useless info*

NC STAR Precision Bipod *Useless info*

Sounds like a DMR setup. You'll need to keep the fps under 450 with a .2g bb and lock it mechanically or electrically to fire semi auto only.

If the gun has good compression, that M140 spring is going to put you way over the 450 fps ceiling.

The AMS chrono station is very strict on DMR limits btw, 450 is a hard stop.

Thank you for the reply. Airsoft GI customized the gun for me. They "say" the floor model says it chronos 455fps - 465fps. I assume that is with .20g bbs. Take into account I'm currently using a 9.6v at 1600mA so it's not exactly pushing the gun to it's limits. It should be able to handle a 12v with stock *So I hear*

If it is for sure shooting 455-465 than that is too high for DMR role. The 450fps limit is a hard stop ceiling. So 450 or under. I would take it to your local field and have them chrono it and if it's at or over 450 (really you want it to be about 440 as mine was 395 at my field but was 402 when i went to RDGXIV last year); the easiest way to bring it down will be a wider inner barrel. If you don't want to lose the benefits of the tight barrel though then have them put in a m130 - m120 spring in there. Also as was already stated DMRS can not be able to fire in auto so you will have to either put a bolt on it to block the selector, modify the selector plate so it can only go between semi and safe or get an electronic controller that won't let it fire in auto.

I have an m110 in my Krytac SPR and it is shooting 385 with all of the other parts stock Krytac.
