few questions for a new player

hello all I've got a few questions as I get ready to go to my first milsim event. I wamt to go as a sniper and trying to figure out should I go bolt action or semi auto, and what would yall recommend I use rifle wise?

second is where can I get a radio with headset that will work at these events.

I would recommend sticking with a bolt action. they have a higher allowed FPS, making for longer ranged shots. As for the Radio and Headset, look around, airsoft stores tend to sell them online.

If it's your first milsim event, I'd recommend not running a bolty. Not sure how much experience you have sniping in airsoft, but an AEG is much more useful in most circumstances. That being said, I often sling my bolty when I run AEG assault, which lets me take longer range/quieter shots as needed.

 

As for the radio, I highly recommend a Baofeng UV-82. It's inexpensive and will do everything a grunt needs comms for at a milsim game.
