vision-glasses and contact lenses

Recommended Posts

how are you doing everyone. so I use glasses and contacts and my question is what kind of eye wear do people usually bring for a multiple day milsim? rx type inserts for safety glasses full seal. If not... does anyone run contacts with the full seal safety glasses? Any suggestions from my fellow blind players?

I usually put in a new pair of contacts the first day of the event then make sure to use a good re wetting drop right before taking the field each day. I haven't had any problems with contacts getting dry or bothering me other than sweat getting in my eyes at BH5. I also bring 2 spare pairs of contacts and leave them in the car just in case I lose or damage one.

Contacts are common, and inserts as well (though somewhat expensive to have made). I typically remove the sides from an older set of glasses and mount them in my goggles with a tiny bit of wire. Haven't ever had problems.

PRK, IOC or Lasik if you can afford it.  other than that I could never play with glasses.  They'd fog about 2 steps onto the field.  I tried Wiley X SG1 perscriptions lenses for about 6 months.   That was an expensive failed experiment.  They'd last about an hour before they'd start to fog really badly.

I had PRK done about 10 months ago and couldn't be happier.  No more fogging problems.

I have a pair of Desert Locusts and Sawfly. I bought the Rx inserts, but because the lenses on the inserts have no kind of anti fog they can and do fog on me when it starts to get a bit hotter. I have had no issues with the goggles ever fogging on me though.

I have removed the foam on the top of my Locusts and it seems to help but is not perfect. I am going to try some Cat Crap next and see if it helps any. I have never worn contacts and dont qualify for lasik.
