New squad: a few questions

Recommended Posts

Howdy from AZ! My squad and I are planning on attending operation copperhead in September and just had a few questions so no mistakes are made...

First is we were planning on using tri color desert BDU's since they are listed in the general ruleset for AM as a camo that is "always accepted". But on the operation description on ticket bud it is not on the approved list for camo's for the UFS faction. So is it allowed or not in this particular event?

Second is about squad structure. As I said we have a 9 member squad, and since we are not at the 12 person cap but not exactly a small unit either are we going to be required to be paired with a few other players which we have to coordinate camo patterns with or are we allowed to operate as our own squad of 9 people. As much as I searched I couldn't find a clear answer to this.

And lastly we have two SSW gunners (myself included) who are looking to make a couple of pkm's for the operation. And im pretty sure your guys' factions are not as picky about weapon systems than other milsim companys, but I just wanted to double check that they are OK for the UFS faction or if you want a more NATO spec weapon system.

Anybody who gets back to me thanks for your time! And greetings from the EMS and law enforcement from sahuarita/Green valley AZ!

As far as squad matching. Squads do not have to match as long as its UFS based camo. So in my squad for iron horse we had my guys who ran multicam, other guys wore tri color and desert digi. So you all will be fine. Weapons can be any style and are not limited to a certain side.

Tri-desert probably just got left off on the event information. I've never heard of an AMS event that didn't permit tri-desert for UFS. That'd be like traditional m81 not being allowed for CoST applicants.

As for your squad structure, I would sign up as your 9 person group (using the same team affiliation on ticketbud) and get with your PL. Depending on how numbers break down on event day, they may be willing to reallocate the few people that aren't your guys elsewhere. Typically though, they will throw in a few guys with your squad to fill out the numbers on paper.

PKM works just fine for any faction! Us Ozark Mountain Milsim guys actually run one on UFS as well, and you'll spot a fair few Russian variants out there for us as well.

Howdy sir!

I'm going to attempt to answer your questions last to first.

NATO and WARSAW weapons are both allowed on all factions.

Squads no longer have to match camo patterns. A few oddballs wouldn't through off your overall scheme.

The camo requirements are usually event specific, which will supersede the general rule set. Several camos had been taken off allowed usage and DCU may have been one of them; or it could be a typo. I would wait for AMS to give you a answer on that one. Email or PM them and they will get you sorted out.

See ya there!

Robert you and UFS are cleared to run DCU ( desert tricolor). Just got an answer for you.

My buddy just asked about the m81 the other day and they said no

- Just curious is there a reason specific to the storyline? tri color desert and m81 are like old brethren now. Perhaps just moving to newer patterns and phasing out the old?

m81 is for the Coalition of Sovereign Territories, which will not be at this event. This event will have a different faction, the Pacific States Alliance, which has slightly different uniform requirements for its forces.  The DCU being left out was a typo.
