Ditch the underwear. Unless you plan on pooping your pants in the middle of the day you can leave that in your car. Remember that an assault pack is designed to hold items you need on the objective; it's not a sustenance/3 day pack since you're essentially fighting an hour from your car. Keep it light.

What I carry in mine:

Battery
Magazines
BBs
Multi tool
Smoke grenades
Grease paint
Lens wipe
Food
One pair of socks
Maybe a signal device (VS17, strobe)

550 Cord

Duct tape

Sunflower seeds

If overlapping to night,
Helmet
NODs
Flashlight

Agreed on Daves list above.

I'd add in some smaller things like e-tape, zip ties and/or ductape in the event of gear failure. Also, a compact first aid kit for minor-medium wounds.

If the event is going to be hot, a small cold-snap towel is never a bad thing either in the event you or someone else has a heat injury.

Also, more water than you'll need.

I should mention that I carry most of that on my person.  I pulled my bag out and updated my list a bit.

Waterproofing all your items in a dry sack before stuffing it into your pack is pretty dope too.
