Spray painting tactical gear

Recommended Posts

So, I have a drop leg holster that is ACU:( What would happen if I spray painted it Tan?  Would it just look like hell or would it actually stick and look decent?

I'm sure that it would stick to plastic quite nicely. I'm pretty certain that it will just fall off any fabric though.

I did this with a jt paintball tube holder for my p90 mags. Sprayed it with krylon flat black and OD. Most has flaked off over time but it stained it enough that it actually works.

^^^ Like Ron said. Active duty do it quite often as they receive hand-me-downs from other units or spare gear provided to them through the service that might be old or unwanted patterns. It will wear over time, but for the most part works fine. Just expect it to add a bit of stiffness to the material.

You could always use RIT dye.  There's a whole sub group of folks in the gun world that RIT dye everything from tac gear to rifle magazines.

Enjoy this rabbit hole haha.  These are all AR15.COM hits for painting gear.
