PTT for real comtac 3's to uv5r

Hello all,

 

I recently picked up a pair of Peltor Comtac III's (and a mic) from a store that opened near me.  I've been doing some digging on the interwebs and can't find anything solid on a PTT that goes from the Peltors to my Baofeng Uv5r.  I found the chinese ones but have seen mixed reviews and don't really want to spend $100+ on something that doesn't work. 

 

Any suggestions? I would prefer one with a reasonably sized PTT button like a Nexus U94.  I just need clarification on what works and what doesn't.

I use a Baofeng Uv5r as well. This PTT works with it.

I have it hooked up to a headset. You can thread the wire through loops on your gear to keep it from swaying all over the place.

You can purchase amplified PTTs for $75-100, and have everything ready to go.

 

Or, you can sawp the mic out for a passive mic, remove the circuitry for the active, and then use real PTTs, or rewired Airsoft PTTs.

 

Or, run it like it with without amplified PTTs and risk your transmissions being very quiet.
