Rebel Yell 3 - AARs

Nice AAR bro!

I was that CDF guy in the woods that shot the UFS member in the nose. I hate doing that, as my face is my money maker! Lol!

Great playing, good times!

Ozark Mountain had a great time rollin' with you Delbs! Hope to catch you at more future events.

I'll try to keep our AAR as short as possible.

Day 1 (FRI): Ozark Mountain Milsim arrived to Camp Gruber Friday afternoon for early chrono, safety brief, registration and AO walking. All went smoothly. I do think there was some initial confusion in safety briefing regarding rooftops and ladders, but I'll get to that under day 2. First night in the barracks was decent, with the exception of a few jokers in our room that kept the sleepy folk awake. To those of you that were chatty past lights out, it would have been nice if you had heeded staff and took it to the cafeteria.

Day 2 (SAT): The new event hours were all good with us and we made great use of our spare morning hours to regroup with UFS command, browse the venders, and get in some last minute squad prep that would normally have kept us up the night prior to STARTEX. So that was much appreciated. At morning STARTEX, we enjoyed the event setup and initial roleplay with the CDF insurgency and riot simulation. We would have liked that to have lasted a bit longer, but that was CDF's call and I'm sure they had their own reasons for starting hostilities immediately. Once action broke, things started off seemingly unbalanced with CDF starting with western village, but UFS persevered and the day rolled on with some amazing firefights and coordination. As we lost light and night evo started, our team split and I was placed into the mosque's tower for DM spotting duty with two other UFS members. This was initially confusing as I had seen multiple CDF groups up there before us and we were told in safety that ladders were off limits and the tower was only accessible via ladders. As the mosque beneath us was besieged multiple times over the following 2 hours, we did receive physical threats of violence beneath us from CDF members in their frustration to rid us from the building. We were aware that the ladders provided an unfair advantage for us, so we didn't follow through with admins regarding the issue. After some time however, UFS reclaimed the building under us and relieved our post so we could stretch our legs elsewhere and seek other objectives. Night in the barracks was excellent as everyone was wiped from a seemingly smooth day with long and gratifying struggles.

Day 3 (SUN): Woke ready and happy with an on time start to day 3's action. Throughout the day UFS made some great pushes to recover territory which put OMM in some amazing defensive positions on elevated floors. We went through a ton of ammo keeping you CDF guys at bay and we even got to participate in some fragos throughout the day, which is honestly a first for us so we were very appreciative of that opportunity from UFS leadership since we are a fairly new team compared to other more seasoned squads out there. Gave us a chance to prove ourselves a bit. The last push against apartments was crazy and I can't say anything against CDF's determination to hold us outside. Really impressive. Really liked the sportsmanship outside following ENDEX as well. It felt amazing to just stop and shake some well deserved hands between both sides.

Raffle: Excellent. Quick and concise, lots to give away, and some great energy despite everyone's fatigue. Staff did a perfect job of keeping things moving and we weren't bored. We did miss the occasional bit from some of the sponsors and givers however, so the usual megaphone would have been nice for us in the back. I hope the person with urgent medical needs was alright and props to medical staff for getting out to them so quickly.

On our way out: Barracks cleanup was quick and easy. Food on our way out of town was the perfect end to the weekend.

RY2 was my first AMS event, and I'd been looking forward to this one all year long. AMS staff did a fantastic job. We appreciate everything you do for the milsim community and we were big fans of the new timing. If it comes to us reverting back to a separate night evo, we wouldn't mind if the day evo went right up to night hours. The play during sundown was a blast.

To a select group of UFS that were stacked on the south side of Townhouses on Saturday, I'm very sorry for an undoubtedly pathetic smoke grenade toss. I'll be practicing to recover from my shame and hope you've all cleared your lungs. Alpha Company, it was awesome running with you all again. Us OMM guys need to just invest in some of those snazzy orange alpha patches as we always have a blast with you all. Good work doin' work, especially Alpha 3. Demon Hounds, thanks for sticking it out with me up in that damned tower. Hope to roll with you guys a lot more in the near future. Ron Mexico, thanks for including us in Alpha companies' fragos. We had an excellent time. Top, your leadership as always was spot on, and OMM thoroughly enjoyed your riot mask and flag waving. Keep up the great work.

I'll post it to the lost and found as well whenever that gets set up, but OMM lost our team's claymore during the last push. It was painted tan and has our teams contact information on the back and inside. If you could please get with me if you found it we'd be very grateful. I also lost an SVD mag with an earth 7.62 magpul. It will have OM-01 on the bottom and small white numbers near the top side.

Hopefully you'll be seeing more of us next year at ESR19.

I'm the UFS guy you got in the nose. :)  I'll live!  I chose to not wear face pro and paid for it with the results from it.  It was still an awesome ambush and fun!
