New Hop-up/New TBB

Recommended Posts

I'm currently running a Amoeba Am-013, it's shooting 399fps exact with .20's.

The problem I'm having with it right now is that after about 25-50ft it seems like my accuracy diminishes in the form of my BBs not staying on target so they fly off.

My question is: Will a ProWin Airsoft CNC Machined Aluminum M4 AEG Hop-Up Chamber and a Madbull 6.01mm Ultimate TBB - 300mm for M4 CQBR solve this problem or improve it to where I get better range and accuracy?

Also will it increase my FPS Slightly? (need to know so I can buy or cut spring accordingly)

Srry for the noob questions.

So to start with, the tight bore will definitely increase your FPS.  In my experience, it is somewhere around 15-25 FPS with a 6.01, but depends on a number of variables.

Now on to the main question.  The short answer would be yes, these things will make your shots more consistent and accurate.  The ProWin hopup chamber being designed how it is makes the hop very consistent, which is largely because it relies on a different mechanism than a normal m4 hopup to put pressure on the nub, which won't let the arm get pushed up and lose pressure on the bucking.  The barrel is the subject of much debate between 6.01, 6.03, and wide bore barrels.  People usually say that a wide bore is the most accurate, but the problem with this is that they are pretty expensive and will significantly drop your FPS.  The amount of accuracy gained from a wide bore probably won't be significant enough to warrant the effort of increasing your air volume unless you were trying to build a DMR.  As far as tight bore barrels go, I have heard great things about Prometheus 6.03 barrels.  I personally use a 6.01 for the higher efficiency and it also works well for accuracy.

You may also want to look into a new hopup bucking and perhaps flat hopping it.  As far as buckings the Prometheus purple is probably one of the most recommended ones, although I have heard good things about the madbull blue bucking.

Yes, but I would start with just a tightbore and a new bucking/nub. Maybe get the actual unit later if you are still having fliers.

It will increase your fps. Depending on how good the hop up is on the gun now, it may raise it by 10-20 fps or so.

Wide bore barrels don't offer the same effect for AEG's as they do HPA, due to the natural overvolume HPA guns have, you would have to significantly overvolume the AEG to give it the same "cushion" effect you would get with a WBB in an HPA gun.

The Prowin Hop has been the best hop up I've ever used, it has stayed more consistent per shot than any other hop up I've used, due to the rotary style design, over standard units.

Barrel wise, I would go 6.03mm, in particularly a Prometheus, they're some of the best barrels out there. Pair that with a great bucking such as; G&G Green, Prommy Purple, Madbull Blue, etc... and you'll have great results. To further your range and accuracy, you can flat hop or r-hop like previously mentioned, and pair that with a flat nub such as an m-nub or one of the maple leaf flat nubs, this allows the hop up to give much more, even consistency of back spin applied to the bb. Do all that, and use heavier bb's, and you'll be golden.

Thanks guys.

This will be my first time doing a hop-up/barrel/bucking.

Seems like everything is pretty simple and I chose the Firefly - Namazu Flat Hop Nub with Roller Bar to do the Flat hop.
