@JP, Idk if you will agree or not, but Wouldnt Opening up the medic rule to involve First Revive Via Buddy Aid Increase Kill Count of an entire squad rather than just medics?

Having used both the ace bandage method and the MSW tourniquet. I found the MSW method to be more entertaining, it really adds a more realistic element to the game. On top of that they look swag and are a cool take home goody that you can use at other events. The tourniquet itself is just a band with elastic so it fits virtually anyone ans you can't tighten it to tight. It's still a huge pain in the ass to put on in order to give the respawn time. Like you said the MSW rules allow buddy aid after one hit, but in order to respawn you have to be revived by your platoon medic by drinking a 16oz bottle of water that is carried by the medic to replicate medical equipment weight. The tourniquet itself can easy be used in ams game no problem.

I think the whole "only a medic" can give you aide is rediculous. Sure ita milsim and alot of guys like the "realism", but at the end of the day it's airsoft and its getting out of control with the small meaningless rules sets. Guys wanna run arou d and shoot and ha e fun. Medics will run past you to get to their buddies or to get to their squads objective.Im not paying $190 to sit around for 5 minutes and have to walk back and forth because the rules are flawwed. Illlet a buddy medic me and conti ue to play. Its my $190 and im not letting someone else ruin my weekend. lol

As a REAL WORLD nurse and former combat medic, I DO NOT like the term 'tourniquet' used in anything other than the strictest medical sense.

Ace Wraps are fine. Heck, at Dollar Tree you can get red ones for $1 each.

MSW is just trying to make a few $$s off the unwitting geardos in the airsoft community.

They give you a free MSW tourniquet when you check in.

You COULD buy and bring a second one for their events and use as long as you are wearing real ballistic plates and helmet, giving you two buddy heals. Also They don't make you buy any kill rags, which I'm glad to see will be provided at future AMS events!

As stated above,  the rules have been modified that faction leadership can also medic.  (squad leaders, Combat Controllers, CO, XO).  As far as medics will run past you to achieve the objective, well that is the game you signed up for bud.  You should have read the full rule set and understood it before you decided to pay your money.  And for the fact that you are stating that you cheat the rules so that you can have fun really kinda says a lot about your character as a player.

To be honest I think most people miss understand the role of the medic, we are not there to be your own personal aid station or to run around the AO getting every person in the rear yelling medic we are there to keep an effective fighting force pushing the front and towards the objectives meaning we are all attached to a squad just like in reality we are to stay with said squad and medic our downed fighters so if you stay with your squad and your medics stay with you and know the squads planned movement then there should be no reason you bleed out unless you guys get ambushed and wiped out.... or your squads medic has a habit of running into machine gun fire trying to get one guy as you all get lit up.

Above all we am there to have fun too not spend all day bleeding out because there is no other medic around to pick us back up.

But back on topic I do support the MSW tourniquets over the ace bandage as you do not gain any real system breaking speed once the person digs around for it and as long as it is not set up before hand ,dealing with them are more hygienic than the ace bandages as they do not drag in the dirt and grime to get super soggy wet with nasty sweat ,muck and whatever else may be in those AOs. 

I really think it is something that should be at least offered as an option along side the ace bandages for those who want to use them as I know not everyone wants to spend $24 on 2 MSW tourniquets.

We've been kicking around the thought of a tourniquet for a bit, but just haven't decided on it just yet.  We sell wraps at the events for 4 dollars each I believe.  If your spending 24 dollars your doing it wrong.

who knows why people spend 24$ on 2 tourniquets. lets just be thankful we are not at the point of using Simunitions to play. those hurt like a bitch. so real emergencies would be bound to happen.

Just medics and SLs can give aid is not good enough - it doesn't play in the real world. In real world, buddy aid is a reality. In the OBH scenarios for 2017, we have 1 medic assigned for the entire squad of 3 fireteams. Say during the action, fireteams can become separated in flanking manuvers, that prevents the flanking unit from getting aid if the medic stays with the fixing force. Can we decide that first time hit buddy aid with units w/o medics available can be considered?

I agree with Sabre.

 

MSW has a good idea in the spirit of milsim, fun, and realism.

 

A 4 foot COBAN wrap is just fine, but a buddy should be able to administer buddy aid for your first hit to get you back into the fight. That's real world, right there. We don't need TQ's, but I also am not opposed to using TQ's, whether real or simulation.

 

As for the second hit, I'm enamored with the idea of making us all down a bottle of water. Whatever the situation may be, the troop probably needs that water before he continues on.

This is the exact kind of garbage entitled mindset that's steadily lowered the bar on milsim for a decade now.

 

If you're signing up for a milsim event, but think it's unacceptable to spend 5 whole minutes not running and gunning like a badass, then you did it wrong. My advice: spend that $190 going to a bunch of $20 pickup games where you're not ruining the experience for everyone else. The customer is not always right, especially when they don't understand their place in the bigger picture.

 

More on topic, I like the MSW tourniquets a lot, but lots of guys have them pre-looped, which makes them trivially quick to put on and you have buddy aid in 10 seconds flat (compared to maybe 30 seconds if you're doing it right). That is against MSW's rules, but lots of people either don't know that or... well, they're just cheaters. You're always going to have those.

I respectfully disagree. With only SL and medic's able to keep our squad moving forward it helps keep our unit together.

 

 

If you're never getting medic'd it may be a squad level problem. I dig how the rules are now.
