Guys, I had a great time Saturday but sadly I had to head home. My back was starting to spasm on me from the tumbles I took on the field.

I will say one thing, CoST 4th Platoon, Alpha Company held Caen all day long. Good Job, Magnum Fourth.

I want to start off by saying this weekend was amazing. Yes, the weather was a bit of a crapshoot, but the games were amazing. This was the absolute best sportsmanship I have seen in my years of playing Airsoft. Coalition Forces, I have to commend your ability to push. I was very proud of all my brothers and sisters in green! That push to Pegasus Bridge with infantry and the Gamblers gun trucks was amazing. All those infantry guys who walked along side those trucks -- you deserve something special. Way to go!

UFS Forces, I commend your ability yo maintain the fight. We had some seriously awesome firefights with you and as I said before, you guys showed great sportsmanship. All weekend long, I can officially say that I personally didnt have any issues with you guys calling your hits. You guys put up a hell of a fight.

Finally, to all those who stuck it out all weekend, even more so the people who camped out, you guys and gals are freaking awesome. This is why I love AMS events. This year was so much better than last year.

Looking forward to playing with you all again in the future!

I agree, even though this weekend saw some pretty poor weather, it was my favorite Op yet! We (CoST) got assigned to go behind enemy lines (a four hour stealth hike without even so much as firing a shot), capture a flag right on their FOB, and sit on that point for the next 3 hours, holding off insane counter-attacks where our squad was outnumbered 6 to 1 and hold the flag all the way until Endex. It was one of the most incredible experiences I ever had. In the final 15 minutes it started pouring rain and thundering. Talk about cinematic!

The UFS fought great though. Enjoyed the sportsmanship and shaking of hands after the game for a job well done. This is why I love airsoft milsim. The attitude of the community is second to none.

Didn't get as much time to chat with other folks as I've would've liked, but the special nature of the assignment made redesigning my entire a kit more of a priority.

I can't wait until the next Broken Home (Here's hoping there's no rain this time, huh?) and any upcoming events. Rebel Yell and Ironclad are definitely looking like positives for me to attend so hopefully I'll catch more of you out there. Thanks for an incredible game fellow CoST allies, worthy UFS foes and top notch AMS Staff :)

Ive said it once and i say it after every event on what a Great time was had, and heard from my squad and my friends that attended on how much fun we all were having, even with a little rain ah who am i kidding it was alot of rain but still one of the best times since the weekend of April 11. Another big thing it seems like all the past few AMS events i have been noticing that more and more players are having great sportsmanship on both factions and thats what keeps me coming back. I like the fact you get shot on a push and can sit there with the other team bs and chat on game play while you wait for a medic or 5min bleed out, absolutely luff it.

To all the Staff & Venders & Command that show up just to hangout, take on huge responsibilities and take time away from there family and busy schedules i would personally like to say Thank You because yall are the key to all the fun we have and you are appreciated like you would not believe.

I can not wait for the next event see old friends, meet new ones, so we can do it all over again.

Pre-game:  Rehashed OPORD from last year?  Meh.

Saturday:  A couple Bravo platoons hiked out to a CP far out and away in the corner of the field.  We later learned that there was a much shorter and more direct way from camp.  Not sure why we took the long way (before game-on).  Walking milsimulator?  We defended that CP all day, held of a big UFS push early on.  After I got killed some guy tried searching me from 10 feet away as he was running towards me.  Gave me a giggle.

Sunday:  Lots of action around Colleville.  Lots of flanking on either side in the woods.  We eventually pushed hard enough to force them to start falling back, at which point we were told to fall back and defend Pegasus Bridge.  I don't know what happened there.  Lots of people were upset about that.

What happened with raffle tickets?  Why weren't they given out at check-in?  My buddy who bought (wasted money on?) a fill pass was upset that they were giving out free fills on Sunday.

I enjoyed camping and hanging out with friends more than I did actually playing this year.  I think I had more fun playing last year.  Not sure how I feel about BH5 at this point, but perhaps Rebel Yell later this year.

Raffle tickets were given out just before raffle.  Why?  Because raffle tends to take 3+ hrs and to alleviate calling ticket #'s of those who are not there.  We have been doing this since late last year.

What makes you think we were giving out free fills?  Is this hearsay?

That makes sense, but maybe mentioning that when people are checking in wouldn't hurt.

And no, that's not hearsay.  Sunday morning I went to the fill station and asked how much a single fill was since I didn't buy a fill pass.  I forget who was operating the tank, but they asked JP, and JP said don't worry about it and to just fill 'em up.

First AMS event and only second time airsofting and will def be back... Weather sucked but play was good. Cost at PB and south was intense all day. It was back and fourth wave after wave. Woulda liked to stay for Sunday but was worried about the flooding. Awesome playing with everyone and until the next time

Perhaps. At the time it seemed like they didn't want to deal with transactions since everything was torn down and in disarray after the storm. I'm not complaining, just questioning.

Once again I had a blast at Broken Home! It was great to see so many of the familiar faces that I have become friends with over the past year with AMS events. I want to thank the AMS staff and Admins for all their hard work. Without you guys, non of this would happen and I would be very sad. Thanks guys and see you at Ironclad!

Ran around a bunch, saw some green dudes, got wet, saw some tan dudes in MC that looked like green dudes because they were so soaking wet.

My one complaint for admins is don't tell us a FRAGO is in play for the entire day if it is actually time limited.  UFS command made a decision Sunday not to immediately go on a mission and to start at a specific time, and it ended up costing us the mission.  All the guys who were working so hard to complete that objective only to have the mission blown at the last few minutes is pretty demoralizing.  Though I can't say that we didn't push hard till the end of the game, because we sure gave it our all.

I have no issues with sportsmanship personally, although I did have to yell at some of our own guys to cool off and not get up in other players business. Please if he's not calling his hits just shut up keep shooting.  As Alex likes to say, shoot him again.  And Again.  And bring 7 of your friends to shoot him some more.

So a tip of the hat to CoST for showing up with gusto and making this weekend a great battle.

While this was not my first AMS event, it was my first time to Broken Home. With that being said I did everything one can do to plan for an OP of this side. I scoured YouTube watching just about every Broken Home video I could find. I printed maps and marked them with identifiers so that I would know what I was looking for. I worked closely with my team to ensure that everyone understood the magnitude of 1100 acres. I went into the event with the mindset that the field itself would kill me.

Op planning is huge when it comes to an American Milsim event. Not only planning, but preparing yourself and those attending with you. With this event our main concern was hydration and carrying everything we needed to be self sustaining. While most of our guys had no issues with this we did have a couple guys fall off with due to hydration issues. For those reading this and planning for Broken Homes to come... HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE!

I was the platoon leader for UFS Delta 4 under Company Commander Kaiju. Talking to Kaiju about a month before the OP I knew I was in good hands! The guy was heavily motivated and ready to dominate CoST. The plan he had in place was damn near flawless and appeared to work as it should have come Game On!

Saturday started with us securing CP7 alongside Delta 3 (good running with you Grover). Once it was secure and a MRP was set up we were tasked with setting up a security around this CP. Other Delta platoons pushed forward to Victory Ridge, CP1, and CP4. After standing guard for roughly an hour without any contact at all I contacted Kaiju and let him know our SITREP. At this point he informed me to stretch my guys until we could see Delta 1. We did this, but it appeared they weren't taking much contact either. Most of the action seemed to be taking place at Pegasus Bridge. I relayed this information to Kaiju and he requested that my guys rally up and make our way to Victory Ridge. Here we encountered a rather large force of CoST. Delta 4 along with other UFS members pushed CoST back to CP5 (Cagn). At this point platoons where mixed up due to heavy casualties so Kaiju called us all back to CP7 to regroup and plan for our next attack on CoST.

We received word of a force heading towards CP7 while we were regrouping, but that never developed into any action. After regrouping most of Delta pushed on CP5 (Cagn) as it would give us an excellent stronghold on the west side of Pegasus. We pushed CoST back into CP5, but unfortunately, we were never able to make raise the flag. Once our effort was repelled we returned back to CP7 to regroup. At this point our CO (TOP) requested that Delta 4 set out on a search for the mystical CP6. We did not find it on the first search, but our guys did on the second search. When we did locate it we were hit with a large CoST force which kept us from securing the flag. On the flip side we kept them from securing it as well.

After re spawning at FOB we sent a squad from Delta 4 to locate, secure, and return the downed pilot. Along with the help from Grover we completed this objective with very little action, but ALOT of hiking!

At this point most of the guys were extremely tired and looking for a break. We stopped for a bit and then made one last push along with the other Delta members to secure CP5. This time our guys made it into the Cagn, but were still unsuccessful at raising the flag. This led us to ENDEX.

We knew a storm was rolling in so we decided not to play the night op. We returned to our hotel so we could rest for Sunday.

Sunday we expected it to be an extremely wet and muddy disaster. On the way to the field we ran into Kaiju who told us the road was washed out. We followed him the long way to the AO. Once we got there the first thing we noticed was that about half of the players had left. Knowing this alot of the guys where hesitant to gear up and deal with the rain/thunderstorms heading our way. After a bit of convincing all of Delta 4 geared up and made it to formation.

Once at formation I was a bit disappointed to find that our CO (TOP) had left. I am not sure what the reason was, so I will not make any remarks. Along with this it seemed like alot of company commanders had decided to leave or sit out as well. This caused random players to step up and take leadership roles. Some of which shouldn't have!

Nevertheless we decided to hit the field taking orders from "some guy" who claimed that Alpha and Delta had been merged. Our objective was to secure CP6, Airfield, Coleville, and Pegasus. The guys from Alpha made their way to CP6 to secure it while our guys went with the rest of the UFS force to Coleville. THIS IS WHERE THE FUN STARTED!! We ran into a force of CoST pushing on Coleville so we decided to cover the left flank. This worked for about an hour until CoST brought a multi platoon sized force from the ravine and pushed us out of the woods. Great work CoST!! With this we hit our MRP, reloaded, and setup a defensive position inside Coleville. Most of Delta 4 made their way to a small berm just on the North side of the flag in Coleville. This allowed us to cover the small connex building and ensure that nobody could run up on the flag. We utilized our medics by having them lay on the low side of the berm to keep them safe. This gave them the ability to watch our flanks without any real endangerment. After doing this for what seemed like hours CoST eventually pulled back to Pegasus. We were told this was their last stronghold on the AO. At that point most of the UFS forces made one final push to try and secure Pegasus. This is where our need for leadership was very noticeable. All we really had were a few guys yelling and throwing a SH*T TON of smoke. A real plan was never put in place and CoST had a rather secure stronghold. The ENDEX for Sunday came with us sitting on the doorstep of Pegasus, but failing to raise the flag for UFS!

With all of this being said I will say that Sunday was a much more enjoyable day. The North-South action was much better than hiking all over the western side of the field on Saturday. It would have been really nice to see some action on Saturday on the western side of the field. It seemed like the objectives we secured came with very little contact or resistance. I heard throughout the day quite a few people complaining about the lack of action on the west side of the field. I don't know if this was planned or if this was a lack of CoST being able to make it past our front lines. However, I enjoyed myself and kept in constant contact with my CC. I told him we were ready for action and he delivered. I can say without a doubt that I had an amazing time at BH4!

Pros:
1. Kaiju was a HELL of a CC!
2. The field was the hardest test I have put myself through in a long time!
3. The players. CoST and UFS! I love the rivalry!
4. The AMS staff is SECOND TO NONE!
5. The weather Saturday was almost perfect!
6. The Helo... The coolest thing I have seen at an airsoft event yet!
7. The "Magic School Bus" that took us to FOB on Saturday.

Cons:
1. The weather overnight Saturday and Sunday.
2. Players leaving on Sunday (understandable).
3. Lack of leadership on Sunday.
4. I used less than 10 mags on Saturday due to very little action.
5. After the Helo run our guys could not find the FOB. They asked numerous Admins who couldn't point them in the right direction. After about 45 minutes of being lost they ran into Alex who got them going the right way!
6. The raffle area/stage. I think it would have been better had the raffle been held at the same stage that formation was held at.
7. Don't throw high dollar items... that's how fights start!

Conclusion...
I love AMS and the atmosphere that surrounds them! If I had the funds I would attend EVERY AMS event! Does it help that I have considered moving to Oklahoma to make this easier?? :)

My plan is to see all of you at Ironclad!
UFS! UFS! UFS!

I appoligize for not being there and enjoying the festivities... I left because I was told that the sunday portion was NOT going to be scored and was more of a shoot it up and have fun... I have 3 boys who were hurting from the weather all night got soaked and more.. I also figured I would save the middle of the night driving and get ahead of any mre weather.

I feel cheated a bit as this was the understanding  I recieved from AMS.

Before I start getting bashed by my company for having most of them on guard duty I will tell my story lol.

UFS Alpha Company had a large role in what was going to happen but never really happened. With roughly 120 bodies I was tasked with guarding Pegasus, Colleville, The Airport, CP6, and CP8. We never found CP6 on Saturday but one of my guys said he knew where it was Friday but couldn't find it again Saturday. Not sure if he got lost, turned around, or it got moved lol but he never found it.

A shout out to those who pulled guard duty and chased an invisible mrp thanks to one of my squads who said they were following one.

My 50 plus friends with the help of a few other bodies held Pegasus and only allowed a few of the cost to come play with us from time to time lol but we did capture 8 intel packets and return them to command.

This was a very difficult assignment for me because my men and women were bored and we had thought we would get more action but I was glad we didn't lol. I had two squads on Colleville and one in St. Mere Eglise and we had a hand full of others who had gotten lost that I tasked with helping guard certain areas and you did well and I never did forget about you but you were always gone before I had a chance to relieve you lol. Sorry about that. Had Cost only knew that my West flank was completely unguarded most of the time you would probably be unhappy and yes I was worried a few times lol.

The two guys who Wallace brought up from Zshot need to pm me, you guys did AWESOME by taking intel to our fob on foot and getting the job done!!

All of my Company did well including the cluster fuck on Sunday but that is how things go and you roll with the punches.

Thanks to all of the Chicago Airsoft Association for the sweatshirt/hoody and for all of your hard work Saturday. Next time you city folk shouldn't be scared of a little midwest thunderstorm and should stick around for the fun lol.

My brother in arms Sheepdog from Pan Handle Airsoft for all your help with our vehicle and for dragging water our to Colleville for everyone.

Last but not least a shout goes out to my team Dark Horse and to all those from Kansas that are friends of UFS and not traitors It was good to have you all in my company again.

I have much more I want to say but I suck at AAR's and time is money so for now this is done.

3? Should have been Caen, Pegasus, Coleville and Airfield. Cost started at Caen on Sunday.

Trunk:

While it may not have seemed like there was a plan on Sunday, there was, even if it was formulated in the 10 minutes between rally, (when we were told it was scored and not a run and gun shoot-em-up game) and when we started shipping people out in the deuces . I was the "some guy" who told you Alpha and Delta was merged because we lost Delta's leadership and we were working in much smaller area than the previous day, The plan was fairly straight-forward. Main elements were to secure Coleville and CP-6, then Ron Mexico was leading the attack on the east side of the field, (we later found there was a large section called out of bounds that hampered a flanking move there). Jazzman was leading the way on the west side, where we were pushing troops to work through the wooded area. As for the final push up the center, that was the primary avenue of approach to the last flag and CoST's MRP. Some small elements, with me included, were able to skirt around on the west to the rear and put that under fire, but there wasn't time on Sunday for a major flanking push (and that would have left our defensive objectives exposed). From a scoring perspective, we had to place forces between Coleville and Pegasus to prevent CoST from taking Coleville and screen the western side of the field in order to prevent CoST from taking CP6. We accomplished both those objectives and still blew the bridge at Pegasus (our second FRAGO) and came close to taking the Pegasus flag, while bringing their MRP under fire. While I would have loved to see us take the last flag from CoST, our people gave 100% and I'm happy with the outcome on Sunday.

3-Gun:

Ultimately, like Jazz said, only 3 were scored. Caen's flag was out of play and taken down by admins before game was over, as me and Long Hair discovered when rolling around to hit the MRP at the end of the game.

That is complete nonsense if thats the case. We had to sprint from Caen at the start of play, leaving Coleville an easy grab for UFS before we could even get close. If this really was the case, I have to question that call. We should have started at Pegasus.

As a UFS fighter I agree that that is unfair. Our approach to CP-6 and Coleville was easy. We took control of it both very fast and held them. (Not easily I might add). But CoST had a long approach to not only Pegasus but to any other flag. CoST put up one hell of a fight to attempt to take Coleville. I think it's unfair to basically counter their effort by taking away one of the flag points.

Here is Part 2 of my AAR

Frankly, it didn't make much sense to me either. I kept searching for the flag in Caen and asked admins after the came where it was and they told me that it was taken down.
