Future Plans for Education

So Ive been seeing alot of Injury related Incidents on youtube lately. While i know there are some professional medics in the field at all times, I think its time to start reaching out to the EMT's that are into airsoft and playing.

If we could manage at least 5-6 Professional Medics in each faction (Players, not employees), then there would no problem with some injuries, and applying first aid would be little to no hassle. So ive decided I am going through an EMT Course, and get certified. So that if any injury or Incident relating to thereof, its +1 more person who actually knows what they're doing, and knows whether or not the situations handled. also, if there is more than 1 or 2 incidents happening at the same time (somewhat unlikely but cant hurt to be prepared), There is enough personnel to meet the demand.

We airsofters need to watch out for each other. That includes anything injury related.

I'm actually planning on getting my EMT for mission work overseas. My dad is a veteran paramedic that's been doing it almost 20 years (been trying to recruit him but he's 50 this year and kind of fat). A cheaper route that might also keep you out of legal hot water is to take a first aid course (it's like $25) and get CPR certified, then have someone with experience show you how to splint a leg, treat a wound, etc. If you are EMT/Paramedic certified, you are required by law in most places to provide aid in case of an emergency - failure to do so can put you in a world of hurt (let's say you didn't know someone was injured nearby, etc). If you aren't certified, you have the option to withdraw and let someone else take over, and can't be held responsible if it doesn't go well.

I do agree with what you're saying and hoping I can be a part of this, I do not like the idea of being stuck in a creek bed having to wait on staff a mile and a half away to come racing to me on a four-wheeler when I've got a broken femur up my ass and a concussion.

You would be surprised at who is but doesn't say it unless needed. My whole wy group at CH were emt's and they got used a lot with a lot of combat medics and other emt's

I already looked into all that. and i know that standards that need to be met. my exgf is a Nurses assistant in Fl, so i know some of the Required Conditions. but that is what makes it a good thing. If im qualified but not certified, it doesnt make the same use, there are things i would or wouldnt be able to do. but hey. I already know all the courses required to be taken to become an EMT.

I'm sure glad a bunch of people are aware of safety. It does pay to have some training. I'm also glad we got a genuine Medic in Doc Dodge with us. Last year a guy got his arm messed up in a gully and I just heard for screams of "Corpsman!". There were players who real medics who responded to him. He made it okay. With years of experience in mountaineering, rescue, disaster response, and the military I always pack a basic first aid kit with me in a Ziploc bag in all games.

that sucks to hear, but im glad hes ok. as a small suggestion you may want to get one of those small first aid pouches to use for a basic FAK. Would be much more organised than a ziploc bag. just my opinion.
