There are always people who show up Saturday morning.  You'll have to really get up with your alarm to get done in time, but you should be alright.

same boat as you guy, boss only let me off friday 22 and only because I have been requesting to only since march.... its not like I get paid days off anyway.

My question is what time is friday open before the first Night evolution? I will not be attending friday night but I would like to walk around a bit and get used to the grounds. I would also like to get the administrative stuff out of the way then also, I am staying in Miami so I do not want to rush too much on saturday.

thanks

Like the others have said. Get up early and get your stuff done. Believe me when I say that AMS staff will be yelling over their megaphones about briefing well before you expect it.

When my brother Backhander and I showed up on Thursday last year, we had everything sat up and just kind of enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.  Friday is when a good majority of people show up.  We were able to get signed in, chrono'ed, safety briefed, etc. pretty early into the late afternoon (I think we were able to most of that done before 5pm) and a lot of people were still doing it throughout the day up until the night evolution.  Like last year, I'll probably skip out on the night evolution to meet up with people, talk with my friends I  made last year at BH4, and make sure all the gear (and trucks for the Gamblers QRF) are all operational and ready to go.  Worst case scenario, you may miss a little bit going into the Saturday game, but usually it doesn't take long to get through everything Saturday morning.

I did the same thing, Ronin. Me and a friend blitzed the campground on Thursday and set up camp as we awaited the rest of the squad (Lucky thing for me I only lived an hour south from the AO) and it was nice just sitting around, relaxing and preparing for the OP. Definitely had everything done early, though I did participate in the night OP (The first night wasn't so fun. My squad and another Cost squad basically ended up killing each other due to friendly fire. Second night was amazing though!)

To address the issue of showing up Saturday morning, yeah you can definitely get everything done but don't waste any time or delay! Just like everyone else has said, get everything done early and you'll be good to go!  B)

You might have seen my brother and I setting up our big ass tent then.  We had the HUGE green tent on the Eastern side of the campground.  I'm always down to meet my fellow CoST brothers and sisters in arms so when you see us out there again this year, feel free to stop by.  We're making camp with the Gamblers QRF again so you'll see them camping next to our big "Command Center".  Ha ha!

pic related: it's the tent we had last year and will have up again this year

Haha, yep I definitely remember seeing that! I'll be hitting the campground early Thursday morning again so I'll be sure to stop by or vice versa. The social interaction and getting to meet people is one of my favorite aspects of airsoft :)

Yeah, I'm gonna try to convince Backhander to head up that way again on Thursday so we're all ready to go as soon as Friday hits.  I also love the social interaction and getting to meet new people at these events so I'll definitely look for ya once we get everything set up!

On Saturday morning there will be one safety briefing. Usually about 7:30 am. Chrono and check in will be open up until the morning briefing. Look on the forums for the event schedule.

Time travel!?  B)

If I could time travel, I don't think BH3 would have ever ended.  The main reason I skip out on night evolutions is mainly caused by partial night blindness.  I can't see very well in the dark and can't afford NVGs...having a super bright flashlight would help but also paint a huge bullseye on me.  So, I traditionally just chill out at camp and go over plans for the following day.

There will not be a night evolution on Friday night.  We did this for a few events as a trial, but it is very taxing from a logistical stand point.  If you look at the schedule for Copperhead, and the administrative stuff will be pretty similar on friday and saturday morning.

I guess I can see it from both sides. There are pros and cons to running a night game on Friday but hey, if AMS Staff says it's more difficult from a logistics standpoint, than I'd rather them remove the first night evolution and be able to bring us the best Broken Home yet! You all know what you're doing :)

This makes me a very sad panda
