Speaking of mid-caps

Recommended Posts

M4 style midcaps Rifleman role M4 variant platform - I can carry up to 11 midcaps on my PC and in my primary buttpack + 1 in the gun (total of 12), do you think this is plenty for a day at the OP?

Second question - if you have any midcaps that seem to have BBs stick and not feed, is it a good idea to spray some silicon oil inside or can they be washed out? BTW - I unload my midcaps after every airsoft event so I don't weaken the springs.

12 should be good.  Unless you are wearing BB off, you can plan to get shot.  When you get shot, walk back to FOB and start loading :)

Don't forget to think about weight. I have never been to this AO but here it is an ass kicker. As Dave said you will get shot. That's a give me. You can go back to the FOB to reload. Plus with the new semi auto rule in effect you will have to go trigger insane to blow through 12 mags.

What Scott said^^^ 12 is a good number with the old full auto rules in place. But with this new semi-only rule, you'd probably do just fine with HALF of that. Consider saving yourself some weight, and go with maybe 6-8.

I normally run 8 on my rig 1 in the rifle.

In an intense firefight you could run through 6 mags quick. Find the right balance between weight and effectiveness. I carry 8+1 like JP. It seems to be the best balance for me.

As the others have said, I usually run 6-8 mags. I'll get shot out eventually and will have time to ruck it back to the FOB and reload.

Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it I'll be packing 10 140 round mid caps. Chances are though you'll have to walk back to a fob wearing a dead rag a lot more often then your mags will run dry

Not necessarily better to have it and not need it. OBH I was my first time at this AO and I carried WAY too much gear. I stripped down most everything for OBH II and was MUCH more effective.

Also keep in mind Ammo limits (which most players disregard). 10 140 rd midcaps is near perfect. 10 X 140 = 1400 (1500 loaded rd limit)

Nothing a little PT can't handle. I carry 12 mags and bunch of other crap. Run a little lift a little and you can carry whatever you want. lol You'll be good bud. Just make sure you leave room for some power bars and water.

Thanks Jimbo, I'm running and doing pushups and situps, etc, but I'm not 34 years younger. 10 mags sounds like a nice round number.

With the new Semi auto rule in effect, I do not see myself using a crazy amount of ammo. Im going to be fielding my HSP D3CR with the +2 mag extension at a local op on the 4th of may. I may be running the 6+1 or I may run 4+1 with the velcro attachment inside my Grey Ghost pack on the velcro wall (Awesome little feature they included.) for BH3. I figure with the number of registered participants and the FOBs, etc. I will not need a large amount.

Are you spying on me?! How/why do you have exactly the same gear I do?! ;)
