Road conditions will prevent my glorious BB fest at RDG

I would appreciate any consideration AMS could make in this decision to prevent my untimely death on icy roadways.

Myself and Kobamalyn will not be attending due to the weather.  like it was said somewhere else, i have no problem playing in the cold (used to play in New England all through winter) its the road conditions getting to and from.

I can't make it coming from Lawton Oklahoma. I'm obviously not alone. This "AMS Staff" is a really great group of guys by not giving refunds.

Pretty sure that provided you don't come to the event you can get that refund in some form or another... least that's how RY2 was handled.

 

Also, it's unwise to bite the hand that feeds you. Show the staff that run these awesome events some respect. Unfortunately it takes some money to snag some of these AO's and that means paying some money up front I'm sure.

They already paid out their expenses, paid for the AO, paid to move gear out, paid to get staff on site, they are all there DOING the event in this weather while you are sitting at your computer whining.

 

If they give out refunds based on the weather, then they are being exceptionally nice and cool to you.   By all means, HOPE for a refund if you want but if you EXPECT a refund knowing the fixed expenses that AMS already laid out for this event than you are being selfish.

We honestly tried to make it, but as most if you know, the roads were so backed up, that we couldn't have made it without serious hazard and adding ourselves to the enormous number of motorists who had to be rescued by emergency services, as we were informed by the State Highway Patrol.

how many people ended up playing today?? Dep and I tried driving up Friday...  roads were so bad that after over an hour of driving (and not getting out of Ft worth) we turned around.  It was funny (but not really funny) to see all the 4x4 look alike trucks stuck on the bridges.

It's always the 4x4s and SUVs that get stuck up here when it snows or ices...  

 

I lift my glass to those who made it, we had some of our East Wind guys dart down to DDAP with a trailer pre-staging an M151 and hauling back a Gaz-69, it was just snow up there but it was looking fairly ugly even that far north.

Im also curious as to how many people showed up, also any way we could get the game patch? I payed 80 bucks and even if the weather screwed me over, i would still like to have the patch haha.

Did anyone gopro the event?  I would love to see some footage.  Also, has there been any thought of possibly giving a small discount to the people that were not able to attend to their next event?  maybe a 15% to 25% discount....

Gents, no one has said there will be no refunds, stop jumping to unreasonable conclusions.

 

AMS is a very honorable group and will treat everyone right. I imagine at least they would be more than happy to apply your registration towards another OP.

 

At least allow them the time to re-group before commencing with teenage girl like whines and requests (not talking about everyone, you know who you are).

Team 020 made the event. About 135 ppl altogether. The AO was shrunk accordingly, some injuries mostly from falling slipping on the ice. The temp was 23 high for the day. All the CamelBaks froze in the first hour. Guns could only shoot about 10yds until they were warmed up with more shooting. Chronos froze. Lots of ppl werent calling hits because everybody was clothed up and couldn't feel the hit. Thanks Stinger for feeding all of us after the index and very greatful to JP and his drivers for transport to and from the PA.

It was an awesome event. Those of us that made it will remember this event for a long time. Even with numbers not as high as we wanted, we made it fun. The AO was awesome even with the ice and cold. I made the drive from Abilene. I trucked through the ice because I knew if I did not try, I would hate myself. I can not speak for anyone else but I know that it was worth it

yeah I was just pissed that I couldn't go. I really do enjpy the people at AMS.

I don't know what AMS plans to do with the patches.. But if I could input something: I would like it if only those that showed up had that patch... It's a sort of trophy.. For having endured the conditions on the road.. For having fought so hard to make it.. I feel like this patch has a great value to me because of that... If everyone that registered got the patch even if they didnt attend, well, it sort of just loses value..... But anyway, it's not up to me.. In the meantime.. Someone here asked for a video...
