I love it. There is definitively a noticeable difference in muzzle rise, this thing stays put no matter how fast you pull the trigger. I will say that it's quite a bit louder to the shooter and spectators than a standard A2. Also, flash is hardly any more controlled than the A2.

Cool. Thanks man.

Since I don't have anything but a Chipmunk for my kids, can I post some pics or video of a gun room I built for a doctor under his house behind a secret panel in a safe room that connect to an underground pistol range???

The first picture is my Mossberg 88. It's a work in progress.

The second is my 1911's. Both Rock Island Armory.

The third is a Hi-Point .45 carbine. I love this thing. I can get a 3 inch grouping at 100 yards. Didn't expect that from a $250 rifle.

I when to the gun show Saturday and this is what I got.

100_0335.jpg

Colt M1917 45ACP Revolver. I did some research and found it was made in November 1918. I took it our to the range today and it is awesome gun to shoot.

Here is a picture of the handle markings.

100_0339.jpg

About a month ago a friend came to the range with a S&W M1917 and I fell in love with it. So I had to get one myself.

Hmmmm..... So far it seems Netman is the only one on here with love for revolvers. Well, I can't let him be the only one, so here are a few of mine. The stainless one is a Ruger GP100 in .357 Magnum. In the middle is the 'big boy' of my pistol collection, my S&W Model 29 Target. It features a non-fluted cylinder, 6.5" full underlug heavy barrel, with adjustable rear AND front sight. Also I thought I'd throw in my old Pietta repro of a Colt 1851 Confederate Navy .44 black powder revolver.

img0106ek.jpg

Next I'll bring in a few of my auto loaders. Stainless one is a Taurus PT1911 with full length guide rod, Heini sights, and Houge grips. I've out-performed Kimbers on several occasions with this pistol. Next is my S.A.M. ELITE 1911. It was the first 1911 I ever owned and is still a good one. The only things I've done is install Pachmeyer style grips and the ported compensator. Next is my Romanian TT33 Tokarev in 7.62x25mm. I also installed a ported comp on this pistol. Not too bad of a shooter for under $200 and is extremely powerful!

img0110nc.jpg

Next is the gun that started my love affair with AK's. My Bulgarian AK74 in 5.45x39mm. I've tacticooled it out more than my AR. This gun has really changed the way I look at AK's. It still has the non-chrome plated American made barrel on it, so it's resistance to surplus corrosive ammo isn't too good, but in trade I'm getting accuracy that's can put me in standing with off the shelf AR's. I absolutely love this gun! I can't seem to shoot any less than ~300rds through it every time I hit the range with it. (I guess ImageShack thought it would be funny to turn my picture upside down for some reason)

img0112ls.jpg

Next is my Black Rain Ordinance(lower)/DPMS(upper) AR15 in 6.8spc. I really enjoy shooting this thing, that is until I have to buy more ammo. Either way, the 6.8spc really packs a wallop even when compared to the 7.62x39mm. Mine features a 1/10" twist barrel where later I read that in the AR platform the 1/11" twist barrels for the 6.8spc are usually the most accurate, but I'm getting great groups out of mine and I haven't even starter shooting my reloads yet. And yes, I 'mag-fagged' it. Looking into putting a Trijicon ACOG on it in the future.

img0114eh.jpg

Here's one of my favorites. My Savage M110 Tactical in 30-06sprg. I hated teh light factory stock as soon as I bought it, so I had to go. installed an 'Ultimate Sniper' stock made by Choate right down in Bald Knob AR. Features adjusable cheek rest and length of pull. The rifle thankfully has the Savage 'accu-trigger' which came from the factory set at about 1 1/2lbs pull. I put Leupold mounts and bases on it with a Nikon 4.5-14x44 Mil Dot scope with a side focus (works the same as an adjustable objective lense). With my reloads, from a sand bagged rest at 100yds, this thing has printed .25" 3-shot groups. It is simply an outstanding rilfe.

Lastly (for now) this is one of my prized possesions. My US Rifle Model of 1917 .30 caliber. In civi terms, it's a P17 Enfield in 30-06sprg. My great grandfather had one of these in WWI, and maybe that's why I fell in love with this one. I copletely restored it even getting the stacking swivel and the ungodly 17" blade bayonet. To some, they're not that much to look at, but I wouldn't trade anything for my 1917 Enfield. I still shoot it from time to time and it's always a pleasure. I've even harvested several white tail deer with it with no problems. I hope to one day pass this thing on to my children.

I have an Eddystone Arsenal Model 1917 myself set in an OD Green Bell & Carlson stock with about 7" cut off the Barrel and action/trigger job done. Trigger breaks cleanly at about 2.5 lbs. All of the Gunsmithing was performed on it back in the 60's when it was popular to sporterize the old WW I & II battle rifles for hunting purposes. The rifle still performs flawlessly to this day, matter of fact I was shooting Tannerite 1lb explosive targets with it about 2 weekends ago.

Ok help me out here. Been reading some info on the AAC Black Out round. I dont get it. Some of the fps and gr's are at or about that of a 40 cal or a 357 sig. So what is the point or is it just away to make us spend more money. Really I want to know the pro's and con's of this round? And if anybody else knows do share?

Introducing the Advanced Armament Corp. 300 AAC Blackout (300BLK). This system was developed to launch 30 caliber projectiles from the AR platform without a reduction in magazine capacity and compatible with the standard bolt.

Full power 115-125 grain ammunition matches the ballistics of the 7.62x39mm AK, and eclipses 5.56mm with much higher-mass projectiles for a more dramatic effect on the target. Or choose subsonic cartridges for optimal use with a sound suppressor - 220 grain Sierra OTM (open-tip match) bullets vastly outperforms a 9mm MP5-SD in penetration and long range accuracy.

Ammo and brass prices are low - Remington 115 grain UMC ammo is $12.99 a box MSRP - and it is not bare bones. It has waterproofed primers, crimped and cannelured open-tip match bullets, and a low-drag design.

At 300 meters, 300 BLK has 16.7% more energy than 7.62x39mm. Max effective range, using M4 military standards for hit probability, is 440 meters for a 9 inch barrel, and 460 meters for a 16 inch barrel. 300 BLK from a 9 inch barrel has the same energy at the muzzle as a 14.5 inch barrel M4, and about 5% more energy at 440 meters - even though the barrel is much shorter.

For hunting - think of it as like a 30-30 but from an AR. After you are done, you can remove your 5-round magazine and put in a 30 for plinking or home defense. For ammo, Remington has you covered with the Premiere AccuTip 125 grain. Want industry-wide support? Over 60 companies have already announced or sell products.

Due to the high efficiency of the cartridge, less powder is used than 5.56mm, which results in a rifle that is a comfortable to shoot - even with a short barrel.

After my separation I had to sell my pistol for slightly obvious reasons. No I wasnt going to shoot the prick she is with...however.......

But, its crazy as I grew up in a household where toy guns were not allowed. Not even a water gun. I guess the good thing about that was it helped teach me to respect them more as I got older. Now as an owner I make it my business to be a responsible owner, especially have a child of my own now.

I love the community when it comes to real steel. Some egos are there sure, we are men, but we are all there for the same reason. I get a kick out of the debates on which platforms are better. Im still a novice so I stay out of them and just listen.

I currently have a rifle being built for me. AK from a gunsmith up in New Hampshire. Nothing beats the good old barter system. Graphic design work for a freaking rifle! This is a recent photo of it, however the optics are going to be different on mine and Im going with Tan paint because, well why not.
