Post Your Plate Carrier Thread!

Metal, I'm curious why you run Real SAPI's in your rig for milsimming. would you not potentially run the risk of messing something up someway somehow?

I understand the concept of using real weight training plates, I weight my banshee for the burning of more milsim calories, but why use the real thing?

I can totally understand your reasoning there. I do have some replica plates I use sometimes, but I want my milsim training to directly translate into my RS. Plus that is the rig that I got the SAPI's with so the fit is 100% perfect. You're right that it could be risky in possibly damaging one of my SAPI's, but it's a risk that I've accepted. I don't necessarily recommend in lt to others nor do I look down on or blame other players for running replica plates.

Well I got the Flyye plates and they aren't curved so when I put them in, the plate carrier kind of stuck straight up instead of following the curvature of your body.

So i cut the bottom 1" off the King Arms hard plastic SAPIs and made them fit correctly into the carrier with no overhang but then they were flimsy so i shoved the Flyye foam plate into it.

PERFECT fit now!!

Here's an update to my post. This is how I ran it at Rebel Yell, and how I have been running it since. I added small pouches to either side. The black pouch holds nothing more than a Clif bar, small note pad, and a pen. The pouch on the right holds an extra battery, glo stick, multi tool, and whatever else small items I need to carry. I've added two mag pouches to the front, however I'm going to be swapping those for the blue force gear ten speeds, to keep them snug against me when I'm running/crawling through crap.

Teeth, how are you liking the way you have your hydro tube set up? I've been toying around with methods on my JPC and have found that works really well. I'm not sure if the replica JPC is designed exactly the same, but it may work for you as well.

I shove my bite-valve in a gap between the velcro on the cummerbund flap and the cummerbund flap itself. It's a nice little pocket perfectly sized for the bite-valve on my Source reservoir.

Pup- I am liking it better than the standard over the shoulder set up I had been using previously. I found with OTS that the tube would stretch out too far, or get bunched up, because of the short distance between the pack and the shoulder straps. It has enough reach for me to easily access it to drink, and whether it is folded for flow, or closed off, it never gets in the way. I was worried at first that when on a sling, my AEG might get hung up on it, but was delighted to find out that it didn't. For those of you who find that your hydration tube is too long, and that the length is a hindrance, I'd strongly recommend giving this a shot.

I won the 5k like give away on facebook from Warrior Assault Systems, and won an entire load-out (Uniform, 1st and 2nd line) in ATACS FG. Here is the DCS plate carrier, more pics to come, but here is a taste.

Got comms set up on a new JPC. Hopefully it works out well for End State.

Also, for those having comfort issues with the JPC, pick up some of the PIG shoulder pads. They integrate extremely well with the JPC's shoulder sleeves. This allows you to retain the function of the comms/hydro routing velcro tabs.

Just got something in the mail today. It's pretty bare right now...all it has is the EI double mag pouch on the side. In time I'll put some more essentials on it, like a properly fitting hydration pouch, comms pouch, etc. I'm just excited about owning my first bit of real kit.
