24 Hour game?

Recommended Posts

Is this a 24 hour game? It said it was 2-3 days in length but provided no detail as to if there were breaks like john lu games?

I believe they will be playing a Day game, breaking, then playing a smaller night game. Then another day game for the second day. I believe the Friday before they will also be running Mechanix classes as well.

Friday will have MMX courses + other random activities.

Saturday one will have two EVOs Morning and Afternoon.

Saturday evening will have the Night EVO.

Sunday will have one morning EVO.

The event schedule will be posted as we lock in certain vendors and pre-event activities, probably 40-30 days out.

A 24 hr game would be awesome, but the logistics to run a game like that are complicated,  maybe in the near future AMS will put on an event like that but OP Broken Home is an event split up like JP said. So keep an eye out on the forums for the event schedule and everyone get ready for an awesome game...

Yes, a 24/48 hour game would have to be invite only, just on the simple fact many people think they are a lot "more milsim" then they actually are. So if you did an event with your average players, at least 50% would walk off the AO to shower, eat, use restroom, etc...

We have a 100 player event planned for possibly late summer, but will be invitation only.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Of the 10 people that say they'd love to play a 24hr game, 5-7 of them will leave for various reasons.

Simple fact is most players don't care to experience the discomfort of running 24hr operations. It begins wavering on the border of 'past time hobby I enjoy' to 'pain' for many players. The unfortunate truth is that many 'milsimmers' really just like shooting BBs. Only the hard core enthusiasts tend to appreciate the fatigue that comes with extended operations; which can make it a hard selling point.

Can you elaborate on the MMX courses? Sounds interesting. Any additional cost?

Yes, 40 dollars for the course which will be held Friday afternoon exact time TBD.  Find out more on their Facebook

Will the games be consistent to their scheduled times?

We will start moving into the field at the scheduled time and NOT be waiting around for anyone who isn't ready yet?

The game won't end early?

Game times will be adhered to to the best of our abilities, we will not wait for those that aren't ready. They can walk out to there positions if they're not at the staging areas to be transported out to there starting AO's. Now some times things happen and the schedule can't be exact but that is one of the things that AMS is working on so that we can start and end as scheduled

You need a female as Time Management Coordinator. From my expereince, they don't really give a crap for 'airsoft time'. ;)

Please actually stick to the times for the dreaded "team photo session". I cannot stand to wait around 1-2 hours longer than the posted times to take 6-12 photographs. If this is to be Mil-Sim then you had better be on time. If a player misses his/her team photo then too bad; his/her heart will carry on.

Perhaps have the teams photo session during the Saturday Morning formation? Everyone will be there (no one will be too tired as happens on Sunday), in their best gear and in good spirits.

The payoff for AMS?

1. A larger, more accurate portrait that will look better in PR and advertising ("Look at the size of those teams! I bet that was a great game. We ought to go to one of THEIR games!")

2. Improved player morale ("Man, those AMS guys run a tight game"); and

3. Improved player discipline ("Hurry up or you'll miss the photo session! No, THESE guys won't wait another 20 minutes so you can get your rig "just right". C'mon!")

Just my .20 grams.

How does one get on that list?
