Hi all,

Was curious would WX Vapor work for eyepro? they are ANSI Z87.1 compliant- but they don't make specialized seals, only a retainer cord. Just looking for clarification. thanks!

Wait a minute.... *inserts witty quote here* Ahhhh... that's better.

Negitve ghost rider.
You can never become comfortable, until you become comfortable, with being uncomfortable.

I’m going to take a guess and say that WX Sabers won’t work either?

Likely. I ended up getting ESS crossbows with the gasket (better ventilation imo- and less pricey too!)

If it meets the AMS requirements, yes.

GENERAL REGULATIONS/SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

A.ALL AMERICAN MILSIM EVENTS ARE BIO BBs ONLY!

B. All players must wear full sealing ANSI Z87.1 rated goggles, glasses or paintball mask. Eye protection must be worn at all times while outside the staging area. NO safety glasses, shooting glasses, or mesh goggles.  Full seal goggles/glasses must form a seal around the lenses that fully contacts the skin and will not let a bb inside the seal.

I have looked at a few sealed glasses that are rated ANSI Z87.1 (I believe Pyramex is one). The user manual says something along the lines of "not for paintball and/or military reenactment". They also state that they are not shatter resistant. What's the deal? Is that for liability purposes and are these still good to go? I saw a lot of players using these glasses at AMS and other fields.

Also, regarding the ESS NVG goggles. These have foam glued in place around the exterior of the frame. Many players remove this to help combat fog. With the foam removed, there is still a rubber gasket that shouldn't allow a bb to penetrate. Is this approved? I would think that any bb with enough force to get through the gasket would have probably torn the thin layer of foam too.

Thank you.

The regular ESS NVG goggles used to not come with any foam, just the rubber seal, this is fine.  The Turbofan goggles came with the foam seal that would come off really easily.  Both of these are good to go because they have a seal.

My job is to clarify and enforce policy, not to make policy.
