RPK DMR YES OR NO

Recommended Posts

the rules seem to have a lot of grey.  it says special purpose rifle. its standard issue rifle equipped with optics that has been enhanced for longer range and accuracy. so as it follows along rules that dmr it should be good, simi lock, fps limits , and real cap and mid cap magazine.

Nope, get a VSS.

Yeah, role-converting a rifle or other weapon is pretty frowned upon. The only way you would get away with that is converting an M4 into a DMR since there are real DMRs that follow that AR-15 design aesthetic, but even then it's considered a little bit cheap-skate-esque. Converting an LMG into a DMR would definitely get a lot of strange looks if it were allowed.

Guest Specs

As always, AMS rifle classification is very much tied to its real counterpart. For a rifle to be considered a DMR, its real form must be semi-automatic (most won't fire in fully automatic), fire a larger round than your standard infantry rifle, and be commonly used in the DM role at a squad level in the military.

Some examples: SR-25, SVD, FN MK20 SSR, VSS, HK 417, PSL etc.

For your own research/knowledge, here's the DMR wiki. The RPK is a squad automatic weapon strongly tied (with the PKM) to the support role under the ruleset.
