Twitch_MA 13 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 I have to say, I'm pretty bummed out by the removal of DCU as an approved pattern for UFS, especially since it's such a common pattern. Also bummed about the removal of Pencott as a PSA pattern but that one is totally understandable. 2 Mandalore_milsim and Dave reacted to this
ChibiPotatoes 29 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 The AOR2 for PSA is giving me an excuse to actually get some AOR2 camo, lol. 1 Mandalore_milsim reacted to this

Zone 178 Report post Posted January 16, 2017 R.I.P. A-Tacs FG, 2014-2016. Guess we'll have to hop on the Crye bandwagon, lol. Any chance on some kind of "state of the dis-union" to get us up to speed on this little civil war? Especially with the addition of two entirely new factions, it would be nice to see where it all stands for the new year. Also, what will determine if CoST or PSA will be present at any given event? For example, is CoST going to be green team for Broken Home this year because it has been so for Generations! (?) Just curious. Also curious if Olive Drab was supposed to be included for CoST, or only for PSA. 3 Longsword, Jeffy and Mandalore_milsim reacted to this

K02 13 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 So is DCU gone for good? Or moving to another faction? I need a 100% accurate answer.
Nomad_01 3 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 I still say remove the LBX camos. Sierra Dynamics is OK - personally I think grey, navy, and black and multicam black would be better choices. Glad ATACS and Kryptek are gone.
Fitter 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 What was the reasoning for removing OD from COST but keeping Ranger Green (which is simply faded & dirty OD)? Just being curious.

Zero 39 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 In regards to the retirement of the DCU (Tri-Color Desert Camo):The United Federal States military has deemed that, since DCU was a Standard issue camouflage before the secession of the coalition, that Coalition forces would have greater access to said uniforms and information on how to wear them within regulations. In order to minimize the potential for saboteurs to compromise the UFS military ranks, the brass has decided to discontinue the pattern. Anyone who is found wearing DCU should be considered an enemy agent and should be shot or captured on sight. We cannot speak for the Coalition's decision to continue the use of M81 (probably due to supply issues) and since the UFS has decided to wear only desert camo patterns for IFF purposes, it is a non-issue. 1 TimmyHorton reacted to this

IBHolm96 2 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Question: my squad machine gunner is of Scottish descent and was wondering if it was possible for him to wear his woodland camo kilt to the next BH event. 1 IBHolm96 reacted to this
PatriotTheCowboy 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2017 I see Desert MARPAT is available for UFS, I'm wondering if that includes AOR1. The two patterns are barely distinguishable. Especially at mid to long engagement distances. If not, why not? I see AOR2 is used for PSA however that is much more readily distinguishable from woodland MARPAT.
Zero 39 Report post Posted February 1, 2017 Just assume desert MARPAT and AOR1 are the same camo No ref is gonna have the time or willingness to scrutinize between the 2 and, like you said, they're indistinguishable for practical purposes. 2 Big Candy and skip reacted to this

Callsign-Hammer 22 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 No more Kryptek? Damn. Got myself a nice set of Mandrakes. </
Callsign-Hammer 22 Report post Posted February 6, 2017 You ask me? CoST got the short end of the stick here. Only camo up there worth buying (In my opinion) is Multicam Tropic. Honestly tempted to swap over to UFS over this. Note: I am not, in any way, mad at the staff, nor mad at anyone. I'm merely expressing my irritation at the situation and it's inconvenience to myself. Edit: Switched to UFS. #UFSWARMACHINE!
VoodooFDF 3 Report post Posted February 7, 2017 Hey, new to AMS! Ive read all the rules, watched the videos, sold my kids, bought gear and now I just have these questions for staff. 1) Im new, so I dont know how serious you guys take your greens. I have several green sets of BDUs from the last 25 years. They were always called OD green, but each set I have could pass for every shade of green on a cerakote or duracoat chart. Judging by the desrt camo response, If it looks green it should pass? 2) Ive seen requests, and approvals to wear Gorkas. It being a BDU style uniform and green (or tan for UFS)...will they continue to be allowed? (Im sure the Russians would be giving away crates of Gorkas and AKs to both sides ). Thanks for organizing the airsoft community for such incredible events!! This is what I dreamed of 25 years ago when all we had was marker pistols....AMS is a positive direction for airsoft, as well as MilSim, and I hope to support AMS for years to come! Great job on successfully accomplishing what seems like an incredible logistical nightmare!!
Alex AMS 614 Report post Posted February 7, 2017 They cut of the uniform doesn't matter. Just the color/pattern. There will be some discussion about some of these things in the near future.
