Uniforms

Recommended Posts

All authorized camo patterns are listed on the registration page.  If the camo pattern is not listed, then it is not authorized.  The uniform requirements are also listed in the AMS Ruleset.  If you show up to any AMS event and you are in violation of the AMS ruleset; whether it be FPS, Eyepro, Uniform or anything else in the AMS Ruleset you will be asked to fix yourself before playing.

From the AMS ruleset:

UNIFORMS

Uniform regulations exist to give an appearance of a cohesive unit and not give the appearance of a group of individuals.  It is hoped that this will give a better overall experience to all players.

A.  Authorized camo patterns vary from event to event and will be posted with event details prior to registration
B.  Tops and Bottoms should match.

C.  Tops should be a BDU/Combat Shirt type uniform top.
D.  Squad members camo should match within the Squad
E.  Headgear should match within the Squad
F.  Headgear color will be faction specific.  Camo or Solid colors is Authorized.  Black is not authorized
G.  In the event of inclement  weather uniformity regulations are relaxed but all worn items must still be faction specific in regards to color.

H.  Special uniforms may be authorized for specific role playing groups outside of the typical uniforms but not for those playing under the conventional CoST/UFS Forces.

While it's pretty clear in other areas of the rules, might not be a bad place to also include the headwear must match rule for over-communication.

Please see the first two lines of the very first post.  Then please read the rest of that post in it's entirety.

Alex is nicely telling you that those fall under the category of uniforms which stay at home in the closet.

I understand the list but you don't have Kryptek Highlander under a category. What would be your opinion as to which one it falls under.

Highlander is specifically not allowed at AMS events.  It was that way before I got here, but I believe it is because it's the transitional pattern and has more darker colors in it then Nomad.  I think it was one of those patterns that looked like it could go either way from a distance.  The pic that Dave posted looks like it might have been an earlier run or it is mislabeled and it's really Nomad because most of them that I've seen look more like this:

We had a few guys slip through at Broken Home last year wearing this pattern, and it created some confusion.  Sorry, but it doesn't fit into a category for AMS, because it's not on our list of approved camo patterns.

Y'know,,, If it was just kept to Woodland BDUs vs 3-color Desert DCUs, there wouldn't be a bunch of confusion.

Green vs Tan.

It's as simple and effective as a hammer.

That's my $0.02

The transitional part makes sense. Here's a link to my squads BDU's its called Highlander but looks more Nomad. My last question is, do you think we could participate in these BDU's?

Doc, that would make WAY too much sense (swap desert for multicam), but no one wants to do it.  I'm personally not a fan of Project Honor pattern because of color ambiguity, but the rest are pretty obviously one base color or the other.  The link Wizard posted makes it seem very obviously tan, but it aint my op!

I think he has told you SEVERAL TIMES in this very thread that the answer is NO.

I understand that highlander is a no-go. But the BDU's I personally own are more tan like Nomad. I'm just trying to find out if i can wear them to an op and not waste $100 plus the gas it takes to go.

I'm going to go ahead and side with the rule as written.  Highlander is not authorized.

So I currently own a Highlander helmet, would painting the green parts tan be acceptable? That would basicly make it Nomad
