anyone have experience locking out a H&K 417 OEM VFC? ive done m4's but its a tad different. Also cant find the easy stop plate on any sites that you drill a hole and slide in.

I have done it. I took the cutoff lever and filed off the part that the selector plate pushes against to make it go full auto. I also took a piece of copper wire (romex) and put it in the groove that the selector switch pin goes in so that the selector switch will only go to semi. worked fine.

You have two choices since that gun shoots 450ish. Do the mod or put a weaker spring in it.

Well im not doing a weaker spring :) i have a few mods in mind one being which you mentioned along with creating a lockout block on the selector face so the switch cant go past semi also. Multiple backups

I almost went with the Semi auto mod...but I do enjoy having a 417 that is a field rifle in addition to my CQB VFC 416D...now im debating between an M27 IAR or a 416C for my third and final addition

I am actually thinking the same since i love this 417 but it needs to be locked out cause it is so high FPS and so freaking long.
