Uniform Questions

Recommended Posts

No, Voodoo, you're over-thinking and over-analyzing this. It just means that if you decide to run helmets that everyone on your squad has to run helmets of some kind. Yeah, it would look pretty sweet if you all ran OpsCores or MICH's, but not necessary. D9 ran all OD patrol caps last year. Some where Condor, some HSGI, some Voodoo, and I had a Tactical Tailor. All OD patrol caps with slight variances and design and color shade but perfectly OK.

I've never heard of AMS requiring footwear to match or plate carriers or anything like that, so don't freak out on us.

I do truly hope that there will not be so many issues at 1876. All of these active duty patterns won't be allowed onto the base.

This will not be a problem. At 1876 we will have our own privet entrance. The maim base will not be anywhere near the AO and the base staff will clearly be marked. ALL current pattern will be allowed. NO rank will be allowed to be worn unless you are current or retired.

Uniforms should be match, especially with Woodland and DCU. You can pick those up used for $10 a piece.

The matching head cover rule was the only one that I'vee seen an issue with, just because that is such an issue of individualized preferance. Putting together ten guys with the same preferance in that area is a pain - one guy wants a helmet; the next guy can't stand a helmet, but wants to wear a boonie, but the next guy won't wear a boonie and insists on ball caps; then the gun that likes full face or is required to wear full face being under 18 can't find standard head cover that works wtih the mask and some people, like me, just don't like wearing hats.

Okay, this is really simple when it comes to head gear, lets say you have 12 guys in your squad, everyone likes to wear a different cover, the cover doesn't matter, the color does. You can have a mix of helmets, soft covers, i.e patrol hats, boonies, baseball hats etc...  as long as it is GREEN or TAN then it doesn't matter what it is. Don't over think the uniform rules, this is not the Military where everyone has to be UNIFORM. The tops and bottoms on everyone in your squad have to match, tactical gear is whatever you want to wear and HEAD GEAR just has to match the color of the side you are fighting on.... Any question???

My question is: if the squad leader decides combat shirts. Does everyone in the squad have to run them or cab some where a BDU top? I know squads have to match and some guys we plan on running with at Broken Home wanted to know if they have to go buy them too or can they run their BDU tops. Sorry just needed some clarification.

Ok JP I got this..

When the roster is up and set

ASK YOUR SQUAD LEADER... THIS IS KNIT PICKING.... SQUADS HAVE TO MATCH NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. IF SQUAD LEADER SAYS COMBAT SHIRTS THEN GUESS WHAT THAT SQUAD BETTER BE IN COMBAT SHIRTS SAME GOES FOR BDU TOPS.. SQUAD LEADER SAY F'IN PINK TUTU'S THAT SQUAD NEEDS TO HAVE PINK TUTU'S.. THATS WHAT SQUAD LEADERS ARE FOR TO ANSWER THE STUPID QUESTIONS WAIT FOR THEM TO BE ASSIGNED THEN MESSAGE THEM..

Ok, Bash is bugging me little a little kid wanting to know if we're there yet on the ATACS FG. Has the decision been made weather or not to limit FG to SF and QRF or allow it for regular Army?

Been buzzing through this thread and noticed 1 thing i have a questions about.

This headcover thing. I have a big melon. 8-3/4 fitted hat. I don't really want to invest in any headwear due to the price. Is this going to cause me a problem?? I wear good eye pro and could care less if i get shot in the head.

Don't know if this was aimed at me. I can appreciate a good smart ass but the rules don't elaborate. That's why I am asking. JP mentioned they are cracking down on the uniform issue which I can totally understand but the head gear issue was still vague to me.

I think everyone needs to use their "not so common sense"  on this. We do not want to give off an impression of being a bunch of unorganized tool bags. Pictures of you and your squad will be all over the internet after this event. It is very important that we all look professional and serious as this will surely be used by others to grade all of us on weather we are worth allowing onto their facilities. Guys that look the part get the part. Those that don't usually don't. In short we just need to look like an organized unit. Not a limp unit if you get my drift.

Yes!  Save the pink tutus for the skirmishes (I assume yall are joking :) ).

Everyone has different backgrounds.  Some of us are regular 9-5 civies, some are LEO, some are prior or current military.  We all have different tactical mindsets and I'm sure that if 100 different airsofters were in charge of an operation, it would occur 100 different ways.  We all have different levels of physical fitness, skill, determination, etc.  The one thing that we can all bank on as "MilSimmers" and use as common ground is that we all wear the same uniform.  Anytime you see a military organization featured on the news, be it currently deployed, under fire, in garrison, or in ceremony, everyone has the same uniform on and everyone is (hopefully) wearing it correctly.  And do they look good!  Now, one squad might look different from another (different individual unit SOPs, etc), but the core element is decked out the same.  I won't derail this into the philosophy behind it, but rest assured there's a very good reason behind this.  If you don't like that your squad leader is using a boonie instead of your baller HSLD operator helmet, then have a conversation with him.  If everyone cannot afford a helmet, even a replica, then take one for the team and don't be that guy.  Don't forget that it was almost 90'F last year... wearing a helmet might not be the best idea anyways.

Im just gonna be that guy...on my deployments if you are honestly doing a real job OTW, no one gives a shit about mix matching helmets and hats. I rocked an american flag Loden green Flex fit hat my last two deployments as well as my Master sergeant. Others wore Helms and some only wore comm headsets. All in all its the squad leaders discreation...Command establishes the rules/guidelines...its the SNCO and NCOs jobs to enforce those rules and guidelines to their discreation. However, this is airsoft

with that being said, it is the Admin/staffs vision they have and therefore make the rules/guidelines....Bottom line is...Just agree on your uniform and check it against the list of approved camo. whoever the hell wears ACU/ABU still and thinks its cool is obviously colorblind and tactically challenged...Id burn my ABU's in a heart beat.

As for civilian uniform, the street clothes aspect is clear.

The civies are going to be running multiple vehicles this year, and for safety purposes helmets may be desired in those situations.  Are the civilians going to need to have a specific color for the helmet they are using, or will the street clothes aspect be clear enough that they are civilians even if wearing a tan or green helmet?
