I enjoy the "no safety kill/bang rule" at FAA, and some of the other locations in Texas. Hence why I voice my opinion so loudly in the rules section here. In CQB environments, where we are supposed to get close... this keeps that "scared kid" from yelling safety at everybody. In both instances... jumping into a room with 6 dudes, no "dead to rights" on anybody, both parties know about each others locations...and yelling bang. Not cool. Don't bend the rules to your advantage, its a safety thing... not something to be exploited. Find ways to fight, not go for a cop out.

I saw a comment earlier about Airsoft being an underground fight club back in the early 2000s. I liked this statement a lot. Its airsoft... expect to get shot. In close engagements, at the FAA location, its common knowledge to back up or go to pistol/knife. Dont want to get bloodied? Perhaps wear thicker clothing, and face mask?

Bangs are offered as a courtesy at the FAA location. Normally from veterans to veterans. Common veteran players at the location will rarely offer safety kills to players whom he is unfamiliar with. They just pop with a pistol or knife, a valid move at FAA.

Personally I like this situation better than arguing over the validity of a safety kill that is unconditional.

So my simply stated opinion is to drop the safety kill rules in CQB engagements, opt for pistol/knife kills under 20ft or backup. After preaching this for the last few months, I understand that not all will agree with my opinion here. I'll quote something below that I think everybody can agree with:

Durring briefings were safety kills/bang rules required:
Announce that while a safety kill/bang rule is expected and enforced, explain during briefing that this rule is purely only for safety. Try to fight. Find ways to shoot, this is what we are here for. Do not bend this rule to an advantage, and is not to be exploited. Find safe ways to fight, not cop out.

Maybe this will help bring the mentality back to the "glory days" we remember from the early 2000s. We have a new generation of player... maybe we should just train them better.

Is this event headed by AMS now? Or is it still headed by the people whom have done it for the past years? (Out of curiousity)

I'm not looking for trades and the prices are somewhat firm, but it couldn't hurt to offer.

I'm selling my Tan G4A3 aeg. It's basically a blowback combat machine m4 with ris and different trades. It will come with two hicaps, an NC Star Sporting Scope, and a scope mount. The gun is only about half a year old and is in good condition. The only problems are feeding issues with the hicaps, the scope covers have one snapped chord, and the dust cover doesn't stay closed very well. The gun shoots at 422 fps with .2s and has decent accuracy. I'm selling the gun with the extras for $230.

Unfortunately the Tokyo Marui magazines have become scarce and expensive because they were very dependable well made items. I used one many times to compare to the "others" to figure out what needed to be worked on to fix them. The big thing to remember is that you should modify the magazine and not the weapon. Never load your standard mags overnight, or leave them loaded, because the springs will weaken quickly. If this happens, the springs can be stretched out and will work for a time as long as you don't compress them for more than 4-8 hours. One of the biggest problems I've found is jamming near the exit point of the mag. This is usually due to the skids being either non existent or improperly molded. I have fixed these many times but it is a process. When you use several makes of weapon you will need to customize the mags so they are optimal in every one. I just bought a mag for my Augs that would not work at all, and upon inspection I found it needed to be built up on the nub that contacts the mag lock or holder. Super glue and a thickness of hobby plastic can do wonders for troublesome mags. I have now used M16 variants, M14s, AKs, Thompsons and Augs, and have found these techniques work in each instance. Just go slow and think about what you are doing.

Thats EXACTLY how i was planning on setting mine up until I had money for more tacos. Since i use the same Banshee rig for both milsim AND realsteel, and occasionally get to shoot some AK's in both real guns AND milsim, I like the versatility of the tacos. but since all of my personal guns are M-series except for one, i figured the tenspeeds owuld make a quality "in-between" pouch I can use for now.

Random offtopic question: Kilroy, what hydro carrier are you using for your banshee? Stupid condor carrier I have now likes to slap the shiznit out of my lower back and cause pain. Im kind of not a fan of back pain, so it's getting replaced. but i want to avoid dropping all the money on the SKD Pig hydro carrier unless its my only option.

Right on. That's basically what I wanted to here. I wanted something to do now that the condor pouches that have been sitting on the banshee are starting to go... since it was just supposed to be a hold over while I collect the necessary number of tacos to finish it up. It's alot easier to swallow the money I'm about to send to Gene at HSGI if I do it small chunks, lol.

    Thanks guys!
