I have a question about the gear color requirements. I have a nice backpack I just got for free from the National Guard. It is a greenish/tan color so I really don't know if it is one or the other. It is solid color and has National Guard written on it, but the stitching is the same color as the rest of the backpack. I just wondered if it would be OK to put gear and stuff in. I wouldn't be taking it into battle, just to hold like extra water, snacks, BBs, etc in. Sorry if this is a stupid question or the the wrong stop, I'm pretty good at that.

One of my buddies has offered to sell me his CYMA Thompson for $60. The gun is in good working condition and Im pretty sure that is a heck of a deal. The only question I have is if I could use this for MilSim events. I would probably have to go CoST which I wanted to do anyways, so its not a big deal. The reason I ask is that I haven't got my first like really AeG. (Metal Gearbox, etc). I just wondered if I could drop 60 on this and use it, instead of buying a 100+ AK. I want to do backyard airsoft at the start with my friends, but slowly build my gear up so I can eventually attend some milsim stuff. A lot of the events are 10+ hours away, so I probably will be like a weekend warrior type. I also live on a farm, so a most of the fall events are out. (Thats why I dont want to spend too much).

I am 16 and I am pretty new to airsoft. I want to start getting into to MilSim events and such, but I am on a budget for my gear. I think the cheapest option for me would be to portray a militia fighter. I am probably going to buy the M81 woodland off ebay, and then a boneyard ak from ams or evike. I have less than $200 to spend, so i think this would be my best option. I don't know what to do for equipment. I probably won't be going to too many events because most of them are pretty far away from me (I live in central Illinois), so I dont want really really expensive stuff. I am pretty good with my hands and like to fix stuff so that is why i am probably going to get a boneyard. I would just like some opinions and suggestions about what I can get. Thx.
