Still working on full AAR, but I really just wanted to go ahead and say I think the medic rules overall need to be simpler. When you have 600+ people, you gotta keep things simple. I say keep it where there's only one medic per squad, but not limit the amount they can heal. If we limit how many they can heal, they're more likely to use those heals one their squad alone. Also, squad respawning just fell apart from my point of view. Not everyone in every squad was playing at the same time, everybody took breaks at different times. I say keep it simple with some old school rope rules. Everyone has some 550 cord on their gear with three knots in it. When they're hit, the medic unties and reties all three knots and then they're back in. I've played several games like that and it's always worked great. Less misunderstand and cheating when rules are very simple.

I'll post a better AAR once I've had time to put it together but I do want to say thanks to Frosty, JP and all the others that were involved in the planning and running of the event. In my opinion this was the best Memorial Day weekend game yet and I know it will only continue to improve and get smoother.

    Thanks guys.

    The Inevitable Becomes Reality

    Brian Fantana - FNN

Dark clouds are smouldering into red

While down the craters morning burns.
The dying soldier shifts his head
    To watch the glory that returns;
He lifts his fingers toward the skies
    Where holy brightness breaks in flame;
    Radiance reflected in his eyes,
And on his lips a whispered name.

    - Siegfried Sassoon (excerpt from

    "How To Die", 1st Stanza)

At 5:41 this morning, the first signs of light crept into an overcast sky, giving way to a bright new day. As the golden fingers led the way ever Westward across the skies, several less beautiful convoys snaked their way through the twisted mountain roads, sporting drab greens, tans, and browns. Like a slow motion race, ever farther West the sun came, while the large caravans of military vehicles sprawled through the Oklahoma landscape, each one determined to reach their destination before the other.

By midday, aerial shots brought to mind a busy anthill, with trails of winding insects following each other blindly, while deep underground a hidden ant calls out orders. The State government is still searching high and low for the exact location of Coalition leaders who, like the ant above, remain hidden somewhere in Texas or Oklahoma, if sources are to be believed, making decisions and passing along commands without a trace, other than obvious results.

More Troop Movement Into CoST Areas

    Wes Mantooth – FNN

As the days continue with no apparent progress in communications between the UFS and CoST, movement of troops remains in evidence as well. Another massive Federal troop placement was allegedly sighted earlier this week entering into Coalition territory.

Tensions are continuously heightened as each new convoy heads toward Oklahoma territory, according to ex-Oklahoma Senator Heywood Jablome. Jablome was reported as saying that “the constant infringement and bullying aimed at our state… is forcing a decision of conflict upon the Coalition people.†He went further on in his interview to note that if we (Coalition forces) had made such an obvious effort at containing any Federal state to this extent, there would already be full out military repercussions. The former Senator feels that the Coalition forces have been extremely lenient up to this point, but warns that the time for leniency is past.

One civilian reports that there have been sightings of missile caches somewhere in the rural parts of Coalition lands. If the alleged missiles are indeed present, the escalation of such an impending conflict may reach to excessive bounds in no time.

RUSSO brings up a good point about Mexico. With the amount of oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico - it is prime real estate for CoST - Yes they have TX and Alaska as prime movers of oil, but the Gulf would solidify their grip on the market, basically shutting out the UFS.

My only argument against CoST siding with Mexico, is the similarity to the "Red Dawn" scenario, where Russia sides with Cuba and Nicaragua and uses the Mexican boarder to enter the US. Where as in the instance of the BROKEN HOME scenario, Mexico is its own threat to the former US. The Drug cartels along the Mexican Boarder area have enough firepower, that it could be a potential threat to CoST, as well as the UFS, and if they were to band with the Mexican Armed Forces (Fuerzas Armadas de Mexico), it could turn into a real cluster f@#$@.

I've heard that both California and Georgia are hinting/talking...

I've been reading the FNN reports that y'all have been putting out. I was just wondering what states/territories would fall next as the CoST begins to solidify their claim of sovereignty?

Hypothetically, if CoST were to cut a swath across the Midwestern states - effectively cutting off the Pacific Coastal States and the Rocky Mountain States - it would be a huge loss to the UFS, correct?

CoST consists of OK, TX, LA, AK, NM - though it also mentions CA...

If Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, North and South Dakota join, along with Canadian Territories of Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon and Northwestern, it would disable North America as we know it.

Blockade of CoST Land and Water Routes Spells Danger for both Parties

    Wes Mantooth - FNN

With the break down of the talks in Dallas, TX the United Federal States has mobilized it's military to block all land and water routes to the Coalition of Sovereign Territories.

Citizens on both sides of the of the blockade are reported to be enraged by these latest events and blame both governments for not coming to an agreement.

"How am I able to go down to Fort Worth and see my new born grandson?" Asks Jean-Lee May from Denver, Colorado whose daughter just gave birth to a healthy son in Fort Worth, TX (CosT).

Both UFS and CoST health care professionals fear this could cause problems by cutting off the free movement of the sick and elderly looking for treatment within the UFS and CoST territories. Not to mention it seems there are rumors that Georgia might be the next state in line for secession which hosts the main research and headquarters facilities for the CDC.

"You really don't know how much we as a people depend on all the states in our once whole union. You take it all for granted until its gone." A unnamed gentleman told FNN affiliate in Chicago.

Two-party talks have been scheduled for next week in Washington, D.C. where a delegation from the Coalition of Sovereign Territories will meet with the President to discuss possible terms to bring these states back into the fold and end this crisis.

But for the time being the situation is tense as UFS forces have in essence surrounded the former territories. In return the CoST have mobilized their entire military in what looks to be a full on defense and counter offense posture.

"We will not be bullied into submission or told how to live our lives and raise our children." Was reported said by a Senior Coalition military official to the Dallas Morning News.

    Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

Open Movement Of Troops To Oklahoma Suggests War Is Imminent

    Wes Mantooth – FNN

Over the last two weeks, officials from the Federal government have been speaking with Coalition leaders in Dallas, TX in hopes that some sort of treaty could be reached. However, it appears that the talks did not go as hoped, according to one source.

“They think just by waltzing in there and giving a half-hearted apology, with an obvious disciplinary sanction agreement that they think is ‘hidden’ out of sight – that the Coalition will give up and go back,†says R. Fenton, a spokesperson for FAST (Freedom Activists Supporting the Territories).

“What they don’t realize is there are plenty of people still here in the States that support what the Coalition is doing, and no amount of ‘come back and we’ll forget everything that happened’ is going to change our opinion or the Coalitions, I believe.â€

It appears that organizations like FAST are rapidly surfacing throughout the Federal States as more people are taking a second look at the details behind the secession, and the reaction it has given way to. As of Saturday, April 7, Federal forces were openly moving into the Northern part of Oklahoma on their way toward Texas. Such open movement would appear to mark the beginning of an impending war.

It would seem that the time to remain neutral is past. People are choosing sides, protesters are rallying at a few state Capitals, and many people are sitting at home on their couches, watching the television or reading a newspaper and forming silent opinions on the whole matter. The real question is, how long will these people remain silent?

State Secessions Become Official, Declaration Released

    From Tom Brokejaw, FNN

“The Only Thing New In This World Is The History You Don’t Know†– Harry S. Truman

It seems that history will in fact repeat itself, as an open Declaration of Freedom is created and ratified by four seceding territories. FNN News reported last night that there has indeed been a signed declaration by the governing agencies of New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska stating the formal reasons for withdrawing from Federal Statehood into a Coalition of Sovereign Territories. An excerpt from the signed Declaration appears below:

“We, the rightful citizens of territories both sovereign and just, do wholeheartedly declare allegiance from any Federation which reserves the right to impose, without due regard to persons or property, taxation beyond the normal practices deemed necessary or legitimate upon Federal States. Therefore, due to taxation beyond representation, an impending sense of disloyalty, and sanctions well beyond the normal means of interstate commerce, we hereby secede from Federal Statehood and create our own Coalition of Sovereign Territoriesâ€

The Declaration continues on with further reasons and causes for their secession, and includes a plea to other Federal States to take a good look at what has been happening, and to take an open-minded look at both sides of everything before choosing a side.

“There is no gray area here,†says John Pilkington, one of the main officials of the Coalition of Sovereign Territories. “Once the Federal Government stepped outside it’s lawful boundaries, we had no choice but to claim our rightful Independence. The lines have been crossed, and there is no going back.â€

The only question remaining in most people’s minds is just how far this will go before the bloodshed begins. Already, there has been a movement of Coalition forces reportedly gathering in the North Eastern part of Oklahoma and it seems they are not only preparing defensive positions, but possible offensive positions in the area as well. One of the biggest fears on both sides is that this ‘Civil War’ will become anything but Civil.

    OPERATION: Broken Home

    Spring 2013.
Location, the former state of Oklahoma, now part of the Coalition of Sovereign Territories.

Last year, conflict between Israel and Iran boiled over into the rest of the Middle East. Iran’s retaliation for Israeli military strikes was to heavily plant mines along the, Strait of Hormuz crippling 30% of the worlds oil supply. The Arab spring birthed new uprisings across the majority of the oil producing counties and OPEC can no longer provide the demand for the world's hunger for oil.

The cascading effect was a systematic economic collapse of Europe closely followed by North America. It seems that oil is indeed the life blood of the modern world.

Countries’ oil reserves quickly became the new ‘gold standard’ in the global economy. The United States government passed regulations putting a heavy tax burden on the oil producing states of Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, California and Alaska causing these states to agree - it would be better to govern themselves and secede from the Union. And on 7 Jan 2013, The United States as we once knew it no longer existed; Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Alaska pass their resolutions entitled "Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession from the Federal Union".

The oil producing states formed their own government, the Coalition of Sovereign Territories. They quickly and effectively mobilized their local military to set up defensive positions around their territories that border with the former United States.

The remaining states in the Union reformed into the United Federal States with full intentions of forcibly regaining control of these Sovereign Territories.

Tensions continue to rise between the seceding territories and the United Federal States. We now see other states beginning to declare allegiance to the Union or side with the seceding territories.

After expressing intentions of joining the Coalition and being surrounded by three of the four already withdrawn states, Oklahoma will be the focal point for any UFS military strikes. It appears that the beginning stages of military conflict may begin here in the near future, igniting the spark of a modern day Civil War.

In a House divided, which side will you serve?

I don't care. I have made plans to be in Oklahoma, at DDAY memorial day weekend.

I will be there, at DDAY, on memorial day weekend, playing airsoft, slaying bodies, and making more stories. The names are irrelevant, and only exist to remind me which game I was at when, and what games i wanna go to the following year.

Airsoft is full of too much drama these days, as I like to say "Shut up and shoot!" I don't think getting involved in any of this as players helps anyone really. Let the guys involved duke it out, settle it, and do it quickly, so i can make my plans. please and thank you.
