  1. CoST here. Day 2 I was pushing through the field with a group of guys holding off the UFS advance towards their fob. I mistook a frag for a smoke and pulled the pin waiting for the smoke to build up...instead it detonated in my hand and I went up like a firework on the 4th of July. PLEASE tell me someone...anyone...got footage of that. My shame for that must be immortal!!!
  2. Coolio, Woodland shirt it is. Thanks, boys.
  3. And by basically I mean exactly. Idk why I said that.
  4. This is basically the color in question. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product/Condor-Outdoor-Phantom-Soft-Shell-Jacket-Foliage-Green-XXL-7185/
  5. I plan to wear woodland bottoms. Can I also wear a Foliage Green soft shell jacket? Or do I have to wear a matching woodland top?
  6. Gonna keep it short and sweet for the AMS staff reading: Good points: Great player attitude (chatted up some UFS while dead, was a good time)Amazing AO as alwaysExtended perimeter to the AO for better flanking optionsGreat communication on Staff and command end (kept things running super smooth)New missions and faction! What?! Never engaged them but saw them and it changed my pacing around them for sureBad points: The camping locations (Walks to and from were grueling, at the very least for the players who have to walk a mile and a half back to their camp to refill air or take a breather w/o fear of getting shot)Lack of Any overhead cover at CosT FOB (lots of soaked gear and salty players before the game even started)Closed off floors? (why even do this? my best highlights from last year were clearing multiple floors then holding buildings, I understand game balancing but there are gameplay elements you can do to alleviate this rather than closing off AO)Vehicles (I know this isn't staff, But man vehicles at this AO would be stellar | #SovereignFury)Lastly troop transport (Broken Home is awesome about having vehicles driving troops around to and from FOBs this helps players stick around longer without having to walk miles back to camp) Needless to say I love AMS and this AO so see you all next year! 8/10 P.S. What would it take to get Chopper at this AO?

  12. I don't have time to type mine as I'm at work and juggling responsibilities but I know I had a blast and would love to read everyone else's responses.

  17. Welp, sadly I must admit this is probably the last time I'm going to make it out to a Broken Home game for a few years and it is NO part due to the amazing staff and players, it's due to that damned state of Oklahoma! Last year we had severe weather which effectively broke our tents, canopies, and soaked all of our gear. This year the weather canceled my beloved night game and on the trip there my rim on my car decided to come dangerously close to snapping away on the highway altogether effectively costing me $600 in emergency repairs that I didn't anticipate spending money on. I'm just convinced Oklahoma hates me to the core. I think, after some money and time spent I'm going to make a wonderful come back for like, Operation Broken Home 6 or something. Maybe an RV or a badass trailer. I was green with envy seeing all the super setups a lot of the guys had! To maintain sanity we high tailed it out of there after the main Day evolution which made me sad but man was I glad to be home. The players this year were awesome! Cost and UFS alike were a bunch of bros this year and I really appreciate that. That's what makes this sport worth it for sure! The staff this year was organized, enthusiastic, and all around awesome dudes! I think me and my guys are going to try to find an AMS event a little closer to home in the coming months because you guys are what make worth braving the terrible weather worth it! Thanks for an awesome time and we will hopefully see you all soon! ------ My only critique for the game would have to be the 10 foot distance on the enemy vehicle rules. I won't go into detail but it made for some high tensions. If I were to make a suggestion I'd say something along the lines of "10 feet away from an ACTIVE vehicle" would make more sense. That way a rocketeer could disable the technical then the team could move in, take out the remaining crew, and maybe even search the crew? That and maybe having the vehicle struck by multiple rockets could kill the crew inside? I've played some battlefield and there's nothing more satisfying than hitting a tank with an RPG and getting all the badguys inside as well! Just my two cents! Again thanks for a great Saturday! I'm gonna go find a way to pay off this damn $600 car. Stupid car.
  18. Last year we had a night game portion that went well into the evening. I'm looking at the OpOrd and not noticing a deployment time for that evening. Is there not going to be a Friday night game this year?

  21. I appreciate the responses! I tried to register for the idam but unfortunately it was already closed by the time I registered. I'll make sure to snag it next year. I suppose the only thing that doesn't work with player controlled event is there isn't ever going to be those objectives where a leader hands you a prop and says something along the lines of "This is a bomb, take it to point delphi and detonate it". I think it would be okay now and then for an admin to step up to a team leader and say "hey, here's this thing, make it happen." Then that team leader has to assess what areas he holds with his troops and plan out a mission to get this small objective to happen. Territory grabbing and holding is fun but unless there's something to shake it up every once in awhile it'll get repetitive especially after three days and two nights. I was, however, a squad leader for my squad and the time we spent doing stuff in between the holding of areas was some of the more fun we had. I know we're not all SF cool guys but at some point everyone that goes to an event likes to feel like that at some point. At one point we made our way around behind enemy lines (only to find out we went too far and were out of bounds - oops) and got in some fun fire fights while dodging an entire platoon of tan making their way to some objective which was AWESOME! And on that note, it was then that our CO, while we were on our way to flank some tan, told us he needed people to hold an area. I told him we'd rather go shoot baddies to which he didn't argue and said have fun. If only we had just stayed and guarded because we shortly lost the Airfield after that! So sorry about that to Anderson. Lol
  22. I'm at work so I'll keep it short and sweet. This was me and my team's (Point3Airsoft) first AMS event. To put it bluntly the helicopter and AO made the event. There was a lack of objectives which left us pining for stuff to do. Basically the jist was "you're not in Coleville? Then go to Coleville." It seemed the entire Op was just about taking and holding Coleville. There weren't any cool objectives like capture VIP. Arm this explosive. Infiltrate this base. Etc. Which made it feel more like just a big skirmish rather than a milsim event. Just being nit picky but that's what I thought. Also, tan had this van (that was eventually kicked off the field) that had tiny holes that dudes could basically blind fire out of. That was dumb IMO. What ever happened with those Kill Cards we kept with us? Our squad made it our goal to go card hunting Sunday because we didn't want to "underestimate their importance" as we were told at Sundays briefing but yeah...nothing happened with them.. The players were all outstanding. Everyone there was full of sportsmanship and were good spirited. The admins were the most effective I've seen. With Lightning fast response times. I did notice a lot of hit calling issues. I heard that apparently there was one tan squad that was particularly bad about it. This became frustrating after awhile but when does it not I suppose. The bad: hit calling lack of objectives murder-hole van lack of vehicles on CosT (I realize this was our fault and no one else's) nothing happened with the kill cards? The Good: awesome admins awesome players helicopter great communication between leadership and platoon leaders
  23. Hahaha, you guys did give us a royal ass whipping after you took coleville! Nice work! I'll be back next year to take it back though.
  24. No biggie man. Just PM me your address and I'll ship it to you. Sorry it slipped my mind.
