I have to admit it took a few reads of that rule on MWS before I accepted that it wasn't a joke. It's certainly a unique approach to implementing milsim medical procedures.

I know. I haven't interacted with many organizations that have the open dialog with amd listen to their customer base like you guys. That's why I was curious about your take.
Like you I am torn. The fact that products are like this are being designed and manufactured with Milsim in mind is great. But the purpose of a tourniquet in the real world is snignificantly different than in a Milsim game obviously.

Weve discussed many options, Im personally a bigger fan of measuring fps with the same bbs that the player will be using on the field, but its easier to standardize the bb and chrono from there. There has been more talk as of late of making a change with the introduction of more guns that can encounter joule creep but we just havent made a decision yet. Were always open to suggestions though. How would you feel about using .32 bbs to chrono all guns?

Alex,
I know I am way ahead of the curve so don't feel like you need to answer right now. I am just excited and before I forget I am going to push questions up to be answered at a later date.
The 40hr sustainment is not an issue with weapons being the only possible exception. Not the batteries, bbs, etc but the weapons themselves. We all know airsoft weapons are not as durable as real steel. I use KWA and have never had a problem but I always have more than one at the site in case of catastrophic failure.
In the post above you said going AWOL and returning to staging will result in a Scout's return to an infantry unit. Clearly humping a second AEG is a feasible but not optimal nor realistic scenario. My thought is to give a locked case to my command/S-4/G-4 to be stored at the FOB? Or I could drop it there prior to setting off on patrol.
In the event of a weapon failure and between missions I could then return to the FOB to switch out. Is this acceptable?
Thanks,
Badger

Stop crying everyone, this has been tried before and it worked before and brought an interesting twist. This is a good reason for your platoon leaders to be communicating with you and their field commanders so that they can coordinate supply drops. Yes, shit happens and you may have to break contact to resupply or you may have to adapt and over come so stop crying about it and just use it as another way to learn from hardship.

I would assume that the nature of these recon positions will be very greenside in nature. In setting up these initial MRPs as your faction's starting point, you would want to avoid contact and move as low key as possible. Due to that RoE, you probably wouldn't be doing much shooting for the first half of the event.

We don't care what your gun looks like. It just has to fall into one of the categories. It sounds like this gun would fall into the rifleman category just fine.

badger8182 reacted to TheJP in Does AMS Accept Donations?
American Milsim is a privately owned for profit company (or at least we try!)
While I'd love all you guys to just donate us cash... I don't think any of the AMS owners would feel comfortable with a private individual just randomly donating money to make AMS "better", if anything we would want to work with that individual to "donate" to a foundation that American Milsim supports such as NSW Kids, K9 for Heroes, Texas Peace Officers,etc...
Hope that makes sense.

Has there been any thought given to whether or not the new Milsim West Tourniquet http://milsimwest.com/milsim-west-milsim-tourniquet/will be allowed in the future at AMS events?

Mr. Yuk, that is some of the most positive stuff I have read all week coming out of the COST camp. Thank you for being a good player who doesn't need to cry about spilled milk over a silly game. You sir are true warrior.

E. Captured MRP must be returned to FOB for points
If the MRP was assigned a point value for a given game, then the points would be calculated once the MRP was returned to the FOB. If no points were assigned for a MRP capture for a given event, then no points would be gained. I don't read it as guaranteed points.
Just my interpretation of the rule wording but I am sure an AMS Admin will clarify this.
Great job capturing our MRPs anyways! It definitely made things more difficult for us. Awesome play UFS!

badger8182 reacted to Alex AMS in Uniform Question
T-rex, there's really no reason to be a dick to someone on here. Your post neither answers the original question, or provides any constructive comment that relates to the question at hand. All that it does is alienate someone who was asking a simple question. Please keep it civil, we value most of the posts that happen on these forums as they might answer questions that others also have. That being said, I also understand that like me, you've probably seen the many places where things keep getting discussed to death in many forums. While this is "another uniform question", I feel that it was simply clarifying the manner in which we provide the uniform requirements.
