Oh boy here we go again with the heated discussion of who's right and who's wrong. I suggest that admin watch this so it doesn't get heated like all the great Facebook discussions did lol.

I'm against real steel in Airsoft, I don't believe that in our world of make believe we need to have the real weaponry on the field. If we can't trust airsofters to call their hits then why should we trust them to use blanks was a question I had seen many times over. I don't think this will happen but there are several videos where people got upset because they shot someone and that someone didn't hear the report of the weapon or whatever.
In our world of make believe we use the strike of the bb to call out hit not someone just pointing a gun at us.

I just recently flew with my gun and gear to Canada for an event. You need to have the hard case with at least 2 NON-TSA APPROVED LOCKS. TSA locks use a master key to open and this is illegal for fire arms. Nobody can access the gun besides you. keep it locked inside the airport until they tell you to open it. DECLARE IT AS A FIRE ARM AT BAG CHECK IN Trust me, do not try to fly with it as normal luggage because TSA will check it and open it and prolly break it, seen it happen. Say its a fire arm, they check inside your case, prove its unloaded. they can not touch the actual gun. its quick and easy, for me not so much since i had to deal with canadian customs and their airsoft laws which they them selves didnt even know. no gas being flown. carry your gear inside a checked bag but be prepared for it to get opened at some point. if posisble, put your mags in your gun case to prevent confusion. it is ok to fly with ammo, just make sure its not in a baggie to prevent spills. Other than that, it is easy.

Panhandle Patriot Milsim had a great time. We started off Saturday ditching the truck and heading out to find Alpha 3 which was tasked to find the infamous CP6, but had lost radio contact with command. Found them, but never found CP6. After 2 hrs of land nav, coordinates, Bo being jealous of our Alpha patches, hiking, looking, sweating, we cut our losses and regrouped at coleville. Most of the guys were tired by this point so we set up a defensive position on the NW corner of Coleville while the truck made a run to the fob to drop off intel. The rest of Saturday was mostly defensive, with light contact scattered throughout the day.

Sunday rolls around. No Pov's. Well shit. We move out with the rest of Alpha at game on to push down the east side of Coleville down toward Omaha Beach. Once we set a line, we set up our MRP north east of the church. Most of sunday was hard fighting on Omaha beach and south along that ravine toward pegasus. Lots of intense firefights, Lots of bounding. Lots of medic-ing. It was a blast. Cost broke our line at one point, and pushed into colevill at the northeast corner, but we were able to rearm and push back, taking advantage of the enemies fatigue and lack of ammo. It was a blast.

    Overall impressions from this game:
    Pros

    1. Admin: Despite some others saying they had conflicting info coming down from admin, this was the first event where PPM didn't encounter that. Normally because we run a truck, we have admin on our ass all weekend (and rightly so). This event was different, and it was nice to see the admin on the same page in that aspect.

    2. Command: PPM has been dedicated UFS since OBH 1, and we will never change sides because of 1 thing. UFS Command. Guys like Top, Ron. Danarchy. Jazzman, and all the others that we didn't interact with at this event are the reason UFS is so strong. People who know how to inspire people to play hard, push themselves, and not quit until we win. You won't see UFS command leading from the back.

    3. Players: This OBH saw the best player base I have witnessed at an AMS event. I witnessed only 2 problems with hit calling (both UFS players), and both were simply them not realizing they were hit, and when I told them they said "Really?" and laughed and popped their rag. Great job to both sides.

    4. Weather: To those who have played at other OBH events, you will understand what I mean when I say "Ill take any weather that isn't triple digits, full humidity, and no breeze. The rain was awesome. Playing soaking wet sucks, walking through the mud sucks, crawling through the mud sucks, driving in the mud sucks, guns going down sucks, and it was awesome.

    5. Morale: UFS command did a great job of keeping the troops motivated and in the fight. It FELT like we had less attrition this year as opposed to other years. Props.

    Cons:

    1. Field Usage: AMS, I understand that you were trying to play the field differently from years passed. Didn't want the same old game. Just my opinion: those of us that continue to come to broken home year after year are not upset about the same old game. If you want to change things up, than change the goals of the game. But taking the fights away from the places that dday built to fight in? We didn't enjoy that as much as previous years.

    2. CP6: wtf.......

    3. Indigo Sky: This was the biggest bummer about the weekend. Our team has almost as much fun bull shitting at the casino as we do playing at DDay. This year they sold out for that weekend in February. Oh well. We still got to go eat at Montana Mikes with Ron and the Dark Horse guys.

    4. T-Rex: I cant stand that dude. (jk, just being a shit) Rex, you offered to fight me for my ITS Honey Badger patch but we never got the chance. Here's to hoping we can scrap for it at some point.

    5. No POV on Sunday: If I had to be pissed off about one thing it would be this. Not so much because we necessarily need to use the truck, but because as a team, we invest a lot of money to haul that thing from Amarillo TX to dday, and I'd rather it not just sit there while we play. That being said, I do understand the reason's for them being pulled.

Huge thanks to AMS for a great event, and I personally cannot wait until OBH 5. PPM will be there in force.

You say you dont bring your stuff because things like a u-haul are allowed to serve the same purpose....but have you ever thought that if you did bring your vehicles to the event, then the needs would be met and players would not need to result to bringing these other types of vehicles. Every vehicle has to go through a POV application process. There is a limit to how many are allowed. Now I am not AMS so I am only assuming here, but if I was reviewing the apps and had to decide between a actual military vehicle vs a uhaul, id go military. So instead of saying you do not want to show up and see these others used, bring yours and show that the needs have been met. Because if AMS sees the needs being met by "real" vehicles, the odds of a uhaul or a go cart being allowed normally would drastically reduce. Now that being said, each side is allowed a number of POV's....so you may see "others" on the opposite team. unless your sharing or your presence encourages others to bring their real ones.....there is always a solution

We chrono with heavier bb's because of Joule creep.  There are other ways to do this, but by chronoing with heavier bb's it takes some of the issues away.

Someone doesn't have to take your safety kill.  Even if you say "bang", it's treated the same as a safety kill.  With no MED on semi, I say put a round in their plate carrier.

If you are killed with a knife, you are dead dead.  No being bandaged, you go strait back to re-spawn.

at least that is how i view the chrono rule. honestly, and it would take high quality chronos in my opinion, i would love to see all events from local to national chrono use joules. You can for the most part chrono with any weight bb. this would reduce wait time drastically as you do not need to worry about keeping loaded mags or filling players mags with the chrono bb. hell even if a player lies and says they have .25 in their gun but really have .30, the joules will be just about the same. but that is just a dream

if you offer any type of safety to anybody, they do not have to take it. you are correct that rifle man have no MED but you can still offer a safety kill. ill let you know that i will turn around and shoot you so your better off taking the kill. we sign up to get bbs shot at us. As for the chrono, it is because most people running these platforms do not use such a light weight bb and do not want them in their guns. I know for a fact that my lm4 bolt will break that .20 most likely. it is just a easier way to do it for us "gas" people. the houles is not what they are looking at. if they were then bb gram would have no place in the equation as the joule rate hardly changes with the bb. joule stays the same as the weight rises, fps lowers. they want to see it shoot under 320fps

yea no such thing as a 50 person squad. Now as for the t-shirt part. if you are wearing solid green pants, you need to be wearing a solid green top. That top can be a bdu, combat shirt, or even a solid green t-shirt. I have worn a solid green t-shirt before at RDG when it was about 45-50 degrees because i like wearing a t-shirt more. My pants were also solid green so I had no issues regarding the uniform rules being broken. If you are wearing a t-shirt, as long as your top and bottom match you will be fine, but like advised before, your entrie squad would also need to be wearing solid green top and bottom. One guy can have a bdu top. another a t-shirt. just need to all be solid green in that example.

I was on CoST and thought the U-Haul was genius. I wish I would have thought of that myself.

Thinking outside of the box is good.  I wouldn't use that at Broken Home, but it makes sense for other AO's.

Also while genius the only questionable tactic I saw with a transport vehicle at Copperhead was with UFS (I would say the same thing if it was CoST).  Pretty much everyone standing outside the vehicle had a dead rag on and I made a bad assumption the vehicle was out of play/going to respawn.  It took me by surprise when a bunch of guys jumped out and started firing.  I should have checked that the vehicle had the dead rag on.

If you want to rent a Uhaul with your own money (which we did), pay for all the expenses (which we did), and cause irreparable damage as you are suggesting.... then by all means.... bring it.  Or PLEASE....  feel free to purchase multiple "realistic military vehicles", drive them or trailer them to EVERY OP...  and allow us to use them.

Ill even give you some gas money.

If we would have had something else at our disposal, we would have used it.  However, when you need to transport 20ish fully equipped guys, quickly, over decent distances....

if you do then realize your mags now weigh about the same as loaded 30rd mags. also depending on what platform you buy, you will need to dump some money into it to get it where it needs to be. WE Tech is great if your willing to dump more money into is. right off the bat a new one shoots hot and isnt allowed at most fields. kwa lm4 out of box is your best bet. all you need is the $20 evo hopup kit and your good. otherwise there are other options. remember to always use at least .28 bb. i recomend .30. keep it lubed and cleaned after every game also. use either murder oil or i suggest frog lube. keep your seals lubed also. i recommend using green gas but if u use propan learn how to take your mags apart to oil the internal seals.
